D C Flooring Reviews (2)

Review: I hired [redacted] company "DC Flooring" to sand and polyurethene existing hardwood floors in my home. Also included in the scope of work was a 2ft. by 3ft. section that needed a harwood covered functioning opening in the floor for a price of $1527.75. Upon original consultation with [redacted] I was told that the opening would be no problem to make, later when the work was being done (sanding of the floors had been completed) I received a call from one of [redacted]'s associates [redacted], asking if I was in the area so [redacted] could ask me a question. I told [redacted] that I would not be able to be at the house for an hour to an hour and a half. [redacted] ended up passing the phone to [redacted] who then told me that he was struggling with how he would be able to complete the aforementioned opening in the floor because of a hump in the floor. I said to [redacted] the hump was there when you originally told me that you could do this." [redacted] then abruptly and with no indication gave the phone back to [redacted] who was just as confused as I. I told [redacted] to tell [redacted] that I wanted him to finish the job (opening and polyurethene) I believe my exact words were "Tell [redacted] that if he can't do the trap door and polyurethene then they could be done today." I left my meeting right away and was at the house in less than 15 minutes. They (DC flooring) had already left the job. I immediately called [redacted] and got no answer, I followed that with a call to [redacted] who told me that he was baffled by [redacted]'s behavior and very sorry for the current circumstances. I told [redacted] to have [redacted] call me to see if I owed them anything for the sanding that they had completed. Two days later I got a text from [redacted] saying that I owed them $525.00 for the sanding they had done. I had since gotten a new quote from another flooring company and since there had been drywall work done since [redacted] left, the dust and dirt that was now on the floors meant that they had to be resanded before they could be polyurethened. Now I have a bill from DC Flooring and I still have to have the entire job done from start to finish.Desired Settlement: I feel that I should not have to pay for the sanding that had been done because I would never have hired DC Flooring if I had known that they were incapable of doing the work that [redacted] told me they would do, and now have incurred more expenses because of the incomplete work DC Flooring did.
