I don't know where to begin in my complaint against this business. I contacted DC Floors to request that the hardwood floors be refinished in my living room. I was quoted an estimate over the phone without any associates of DC Floors offering to visit my home, observe the room to be refinished, measuring the square footage, or asking questions to ensure a proper and timely completion. On the day of the project, January 29, 2016, the individual who was sent to my home entered carelessly by knocking into freshly painted door frames, walls, and my kitchen appliances. He and his colleagues did not properly prepare adjoining rooms for the sanding portion of the floor refinishing, casting a thick layer of dust all throughout my space including my walk-in closet, kitchen, and bathroom. The clean-up was nonexistent, as well, leaving me with hours of wall cleaning, dusting, and sweeping. Following the sanding, the floors were lightly stained, leaving a very uneven tone of grey, light purple, and the original brown. The associate also claimed that the shoe trim was not included in the project and said that it would not be altered. I questioned why this was this case, as the shoe trim was the same color as the floors. Why would I want to leave the shoe trim stained brown while the floors were sanded and stained grey? This led to a verbal confrontation with the associate. The business owner was contacted, and he agreed to replace the trim altogether. The associate stated that he would have to return to the business site to retrieve the new trim. He was gone for 2 hours, and upon his return, he claimed to not have enough stain left to color the trim. At this point, the project had lasted 8 hours for a 200 sq. foot room project. The associate stated that he would return on Monday, February 1, by 4 PM to install the new shoe trim and correct faulty sanding/staining between the living area and two adjoining closets. On the day of the scheduled revisit, I arrived home and waited until 5 PM. No one employed or connected with DC Floors contacted me. The project was totally abandoned, and I was left with unsealed, discolored floors and no replacement shoe trim. I was absolutely in awe that a business would abandon a project they had started and not reach out to their customer and provide an explanation. 100% disrespectful and unprofessional..
