Review: My car was involved in a accident this auto company was given the car and was repairing the car with my consent. They have been paid already by insurance company for the repairs for the car. The told the insurance company that the car will eb ready in 2 weeks but every attempt made from me when contacting them I get no response. When I do call I get that the manger is out right now and he will be in contact with you by the end of business hours. It has been a month now and I still have no vehicle and still haven't heard from the manager. No one is telling me when my car will be repaired this is bad way to do business especially when you already have payment.Desired Settlement: I love to here from the manager and will like an explanation of how he conducts business with his clients. Not only do I live in this great city I risk my life to make sure its a safe place to visit and live by being a New York City Police Officer.

Review: I had a car accident on Friday, July [redacted], 2013 on the corner of[redacted]. I called AAA to come tow my car but New York City policy states that a car must first be towed by the New York Police Department before AAA can touch the vehicle. I asked the Officer who was writing down my statement to call a towing company, and because of the fact that I had the ability to call my own tow truck from AAA, the Police Officer told me that this tow would not cost me anything. I then checked with the tow truck driver to ensure that this tow would not cost me anything, and he said yes. When I went to go pick up my car from the lot the tow company (D & D Impressive Auto Collision Inc.) brought my car to, I was told to pay $247.14 for the tow that I didn't even truly want in the first place because I could've gotten a free tow from AAA to the location where my car would get fixed, and they stored it for three days over a weekend (additional charges). I had an altercation with the man working there at the time, where I refused to pay, so he refused to give me my car. I called the police to work out the matter, they informed me that my insurance would cover the tow and pay me back. I then paid the money so I could get my car out. When talked with my insurance, they informed me that this was not the case because of the type of insurance that I have (I do not have collision coverage because of the age of my car). It has taken me a while to find the location to file a complaint, and I hope this is the right place.Desired Settlement: Refund

Response:

In the state of New York when your involved in a accident, the New York City Police Department notifies there central station that they need D.A.R.P (Direct Accident Response Program) to tow vehicles that are involved in a accident. You can not call no other tow company or motor club (AAA,Geico,Road America, Etc.) Police Department has a list of companies and they go down the list. Once we respond to the accident at that time you are given a invoice to be filled out by the customer for he or she can put there information of there vehicle and the registered owners name. On that invoice breaks down the charges as follows:

tow to shop $125

tow elsewhere $125 plus $4.00 a mile

storage is $25 per day for the first three days

$27 thereafter

and may charge an additional amount not to exceed $25 for the positioning of such vehicle for removal from such storage facilities by the tow truck of another towing company. And on the invoice has consumer bill of rights regarding towing of accident vehicles. So no one from the company or Police Department said the towing is free. This is New York City Rules I don't create them I enforced them.
