D & D Movers Reviews (3)
I hired [redacted] and his crew to help me move furniture being stored in Newberry County to downtown Columbia. They had another move scheduled very soon after mine, but instead of rushing through and risking accidentally damaging my property, [redacted] brought not 1 but 3 guys to help, in order to ensure they could help both me and the next customer quickly and carefully. They showed up right when expected (after calling to let me know they were running on time) and loaded my Uhaul truck in a ridiculously fast 15-20 minutes. Then, as they got in their car and I started the truck, I realized my truck was now STUCK in the soft ground outside the house! [redacted] took over, and the guys did everything they could to help get the truck out. Even unloading half of it to lower the weight. Unfortunately, it didn't work, and after 30min of them working so hard to help, I ended up having to call a tow truck. [redacted] felt very bad leaving me, and insisted I call him tomorrow (Sunday!) if I needed help unloading, since my whole moving plan fell through. I will absolutely recommend them to anyone! Thanks a lot!!
D and D moved me yesterday. They were excellent. The movers were polite and hard working. Great movers!
D&D Movers dropped our piano off the lift gate and will not longer answer or return our calls!
On [redacted] we were moved by D & D [redacted] the owner, assured me they were fully insured. He said their guys were complete professionals who had all been with him for a really long time. Well, I suppose they have since it was his brother and his son. After showing up over 3 hours late, they dropped our piano and told us their insurance would cover the repairs. Now, they will not answer or return our calls. We had Demont, the brother who was doing the work, make notes on the invoice as to what had happened and even had him sign it. It was also raining on our moving day. They did not make any effort to protect our mattresses, or anything else, from the rain. They stacked everything up on the lift gate until the gate was overflowing then moved it into the back of the truck. This left our mattresses and boxes sitting on the wet ground, soaking up the water until they were ready to move them, with no attempt to use plastic or anything else to protect them. Now all the mattresses have major water stains! I had written FRAGILE in red letters all over the boxes that contained dishes, etc. I also wrote DO NOT STACK ANYTHING ON TOP OF THIS BOX. Every box that said that was placed on the bottom of a stack with at least three boxes on top!! They were extremely careless with our things. Most of our furniture is scratched up or has pieces broken off the bottom. My wedding ring set has not been seen since the move and a police report has been filed.
