D. Duncan Auto Body Reviews (2)

Review: Duncan Auto Body had [redacted] third party complete repairs without informing owner. Vehicle had damage from [redacted] hail storm. Duncan damaged front bumper, AC compressor did not operate after received so called repaired vehicle. Both front door leather door panels damaged requiring replacement with new OEM door panels. Service manager initially offered to try to GLUE door panels to front door frames. Door panels are loaded with electronic features. Duncan admits damaging door panels, blowing fuse for daytime driving lights, not properly reattaching front bumper to vehicle that resulted in discovering front bumper wiggled up and down approximately 6 inches in both directions. The air conditioning worked absolutely perfect before Duncan auto touched vehicle. Owner offered to replace compressor at [redacted] Dealer on 6/21/2013 and Duncan was told owner would think about it and reply on 6/24/2013. Owner of Duncan now reneging on offer even though they he admits damaging vehicle. A previous repair to replace rear window after being rear ended also failed to do correctly as rear defroster in window has never worked since. Door panels loose with frame exposed, bumper barely hanging on, AC no longer works, vehicle sustained more damage during their failed effort to fix vehicle and also failed to show owner ANY of the admitted damaged. I spoke with an appraiser from [redacted] different insurance company (one of largest in US) and the appraiser told me he specifically tells claimants to avoid Duncan Auto Body because each vehicle taken there by his company's insured ALL had issues with repairs and fail to repair anything correctly. Unfortunately, I

Spoke to this appraiser AFTER taking my vehicle to Duncan. So I now own [redacted] vehicle that originally sold for over $40,000 that has been destroyed by Duncan Auto Body. Since AC worked perfectly before taking vehicle to Duncan, and since the damaged everything they touched, owner has no idea what they did to ruin AC compressor and owner is hesitant to let Duncan ever touch vehicle again. Owner has paid over $300 to try repairing AC by

GM dealers and ALL invoices indicate vehicle needs [redacted] new AC compressor. After showing this evidence to Duncan, the owner still claims his inept repair shop did nothing wrong and does not want to repair air conditioning. When met with owner on 6/21/13 after shop manager denied any issues, Duncan owner told vehicle owner that behind said vehicles bumper is REBAR. Rebar is used in construction of roads with cement and bridges and foundations. There is NO rebar in any vehicle and Duncan's use of that word displays their effort to try and double-talk customer with terminology that demonstrates trying to make up an explanation that sounds technical but is absolutely ridiculous. While looking for more information about Duncan Auto Body, I found comments from another individual warned by his auto insurance adjuster to avoid going to Duncan. I would feel relieved if Duncan had all of their damaged repaired by [redacted] dealer as I have lost all confidence in Duncan's ability to do anything correctly. I was also told that Duncan would be performing all repairs themselves and they never informed me they calling someone else to repair my vehicle. Duncan owner admitted doing this and blamed being overwhelmed by their volume of other work from hail storm. Insurance company approved Duncan's repair estimate of over $6,000 so I expected repairs to be made correctly and by Duncan Auto Body and not by some obscure company he referred to as [redacted]. An auto body facility that has to call [redacted] third party to complete work they contracted to perform themselves further demonstrates their inability to repair and lack of knowledge. It is now early summer and have [redacted] no air conditioning with temperatures reaching into the 90's. If Duncan refuses to remedy this situation, I ask you to report them to the PA Dept. of Insurance for possible insurance fraud. I would also like them reported to the PA Attorney Generals Office. I have video record of all damage and also found missing parts and broken parts inside front of vehicle. If they were too busy to handle my repair, they should have contacted me instead of allowing unauthorized individuals to touch my vehicle, all without my knowledge and consent or permission. They were more interested in receiving the insurance money. They failed to perform and cause worse damage than the vehicle sustained in [redacted] hailstorm.Desired Settlement: I would like vehicle repaired by [redacted] dealer because the vehicle is [redacted] Buick. I am completely apprehensive to let Duncan touch anything on my vehicle and they should pay for all repairs at [redacted] Dealer since they cannot perform them correctly themselves.
