D & E Pump Sales & Service Inc Reviews (1)
I was charged for a product that had a warranty and not told about any repair costs until after the repairs were completed.
I purchased a bladder tank from D&E in 2009 it came with a 5 year warranty. The tank stopped working correctly so I called D&E and was told it was under warranty but I had to wait a week before someone could come out to fix it. I told the gentleman that the pump kept continuously kicking on and off he said that was the soonest they could get here. I called another company and they could come out that day but since the unit was under warranty I decided to wait for D&E to come out and fix it. The day they came out the pump had stopped working all together. My husband was told by the technician that the contacts were fried because of the pump kicking on and off so he charged me for replacing the contacts. He replaced the tank and then presented me with a bill for over $400.00 for a new tank, parts and labor. When I explained that the tank was under warranty he said it was a "pro-rated warranty" and then took $50.00 off the bill. I told him that if they had told me that from the beginning I would have had the other company come out a week before and we wouldn't have had to replace the other burnt out parts from the pump kicking on and off. He told me to call his manager so I did. The manager's first response was that they could take their parts back off and leave. It was after 4:00 in the afternoon and I couldn't get anyone else out here that late so I would have no water until I could get someone here. He said he would lower the bill to $300 and that was it. So I paid the $300 because I had no other choice. I think it is criminal to do repairs at a customer's house and then tell them how much the repairs are and they have to pay this bill.
