I had my car detailed before the holidays here. I was quoted $125 and told that cash was the only payment as the detail work was done "on the side" and by the office manager, Kira [redacted]. Upon picking up my car, everything looked good as it was dark outside and the seats were oiled, exterior was fully washed and the carpets were perfectly cleaned, including the removal of 2 bad stains. I then paid the office manager (Kira [redacted]-the only person I have dealt with there) and even gave her a $5 tip. Two days later while on my trip to the western slope to visit my in-laws, I noticed that the dashboard and ashtray were still full of dust, glass over the gages and windshield was streaky, heavy dirt and dust under the seats and the gas cap compartment was filled with 2" of caked mud from driving on dirt roads. I would have expected these to be done as it was a "detail" job but I decided to let it go and clean them myself. The very next day while unpacking the trunk, I noticed that the carpet was still filthy and that the spare tire compartment was full of debris and glitter-the trunk was left untouched! Keep in mind that this was not a simple oversight as I has emphasized to Ms. [redacted] that the trunk would need special attention as I had used it to haul old carpet and other garbage produced from my summer remodel and that it was one of the main reasons I needed my car detailed. Upon my return, I visited the shop and talked to Ms. [redacted] about my issues. Her usual demeanor quickly escalated into an aggressive attitude and she said that she would redo the trunk IF I paid her an additional $80 AND remove the carpet and spare tire myself. From there, I proceeded to write the shop owner (also the office manager/auto detailer's father, [redacted]) a detailed and polite letter begging for his help as I had saved for a long time for this service. That was back in January and I have never received any kind of reply.
