D&H charged me a diagnostic fee of $65, but when I authorized the actual repair I couldn't get anyone to call me back or come fix my washing machine. In August, I called D&H for my washing machine at the recommendation of a neighbor. A tech came out a couple days later to diagnose the problem, stating there was a $65 diagnostic fee. I agreed, as I needed a prompt repair. While the tech was a wonderfully friendly man, he could not diagnose the problem so I had to tell him what it was and even gave him paperwork about the specific part needed to repair it. He left to find the part and called later in the day, leaving a message that it would cost an additional $100+ for parts and repair. I called back a little while later and told the receptionist I wanted to schedule a time for the tech to come back for repair. She said I had to wait until the part actually arrived to schedule that. I asked how long that would be and she said five days. I waited a week and heard nothing. I called back and the tech answered. He said the receptionist quit and he couldn't find my order ticket, and that he would call me back in a few minutes after he looked for it. Several hours passed and I heard nothing again. I called back and got voice mail, so I left a saying message that I really needed someone to come out to fix my machine and to call me back ASAP to let me know what was going on. I never heard anything back from them, and had to find someone else to come out and repair it.I would have NEVER called someone to come out just for a diagnosis, as I already knew what the problem was. I only paid the fee because I thought they'd actually fix my machine at some point. So I contacted my credit card company and told them what happened and they placed a 'stop payment' on the fee. I thought that would be the end of it, but a couple weeks later I received a bill from D&H with a nasty note from [redacted] (no title or last name) accusing me of trying to "rob" them! Upon receiving this, I immediately called them and once again got voicemail. I left a message saying how I tried several times to get them to come out and fix my machine and I never would have called them simply for a diagnostic-especially considering the tech couldn't even diagnose it himself. Then, I read the statement more carefully and realized that they had altered the paperwork to state that "Customer did not want repair." Flabbergasted by their lies and audacity, I left another message telling them that their paperwork was incorrect and did not reflect my efforts to try to pay them even more money to do their job as a repair company. I said they would never see the $65, as I now found it to be a fraudulent charge. Once again, I never heard anything back. A few days later, I went online to do some research about them and found out what a fool I had been-I saw nothing but negative reviews and an "F" rating with the Revdex.com. I wrote them an email saying I wish I had done my due diligence before hiring them, as it seems the awful customer service I received is a common business practice of theirs. And...I finally got a response! BUT instead of apologizing profusely for dropping the ball and sending me nasty notes, I was told by [redacted] (no title given) to stop contacting them and pay up. I wrote back that as soon as they dropped the charge, I would cease to contact them. And if they didn't I would add to the list of complaints at the Revdex.com. I received no response after that. But then in today's mail, I received another invoice from them for $65 with the same false "customer did not want repair" note. At a loss for how to come to a solution at this point, I am filing a complaint about their fraudulent business practices and poor customer service.Desired SettlementI am asking them to drop the $65 fee, as I would not have hired them or paid it in the first place if I had known they were never going to order the part, return my calls, or come back to actually fix the machine. (In addition, the tech did not even diagnose it-I had to tell him exactly what was wrong and give him the paperwork on the part needed so he knew what to order.) An apology from them would be nice too, but I don't expect it. I really just want them to drop the charge so I can move on from this. I've already wasted too much time and energy dealing with them about this.

D & H Appliance incorrectly installed a gasket on my [redacted] washer. As a result, the drum detached from the washer & the washer washer ruined.I was referred to D & H by [redacted]'s 800 number and told they were an authorized [redacted] repair service. On April 29, 2016, D & H's technician [redacted] installed a new door gasket on my [redacted] washer as the old gasket had become very dirty. Other than this cosmetic issue, the machine, purchased in 2008, was in perfect condition and functioned perfectly. Within a day of this gasket installation, the washer started to make a very loud noise and further examination revealed that the newly installed gasket had ripped in a number of places. I called D & H and they ordered another gasket and returned to install it on May 18, 2016. Upon inspection of the washer, their technician [redacted] advised me that the machine had been damaged beyond repair because the technician on April 29 had "tightened the screws too much to the point that the drum has detached from the machine and can not be fixed." He also told me the average life of a washer was 10-12 years. Mine was 7 1/2 years old. While D & H did refund the cost of the repair made on April 29, they have not followed through on their promise to reimburse me for destroying what had been a very fully functional washer. I have called repeatedly and left messages both on their answering machine and with their receptionist. Initially I was told that [redacted] was away and that once he returned they would compensate me. I've been told that he will call repeatedly - but no once has contacted me. Most recently, on May 31, 2016, I was told that [redacted] would call the next day. No one has called. I've called numerous times in the past week and always get the answering machine.Desired SettlementI would like to be compensated for the value of ruined washing machine. I believe the value would be approximately $500 as the machine's retail value when new was $1200 and by by D & H's own estimate it should have lasted 10-12 years.
