Excellent experience with purchasing our new RV. I would highly recommend D&H ","pos-2

I bought a new camper that they did work to. They did not tell me about the issues before purchase. Camper was in unusable conditionI purchased a new camper on 5/23/15. I noticed water damage to the wood under the refrigerator after I got it home. I called the dealer who told me it was a factory flaw and to go on my planned vacation and they would fix it when we got back. I went on vacation June 1st. It went downhill from there. They camper leaked so when I looked under the camper I saw all the duct tape under there. I called again and was told that it was just "special tape" and to not be concerned. I asked why it was like that and was not given an answer. They did send a repair man with some caulk but this was no help. They kept telling me that there was nothing done to the camper. They will not tell me what they did to it. The camper poured from the black tank and we could not use the camper. We had to cut our trip short because of the condition of the camper. I was not informed before purchase that they did repairs. They will not tell me what they did to the camper or what repairs they did to it. The camper had to go back to the manufacturer for repairs since it was in such bad shape. I have all the emails that prove how many times I contacted D&H. My complaint is that they did not tell me the truth before I bought the camper. In fact to this date they have not told me what the issues were with the camper. I don't know how a dealer can do this to a consumer. The manufacturer had to fix what the dealership did. In fact the dealer said they would compensate me for all my issues. That did not happen but I am at least thankful that the manufacturer stood behind the product. If not I would have had thousands of dollars of repairs on my hand since the dealer would not take the camper back to repair it the correct way. While looking through the camper it was also apparent that they worked on the hot water heater, heating system and that there had been a serious leak under the shower also. It had rotten wood and all the supports had been removed. D&H told me that it was our fault that there was rot under there and we had only used it for 2 days at this point. I feel that as the consumer I should have been informed of the condition of the camper before purchase so that I could have made an educated choice. I was not informed of anything and ended up with a major problem. I bought a new camper to prevent having issues and got a camper worse than any used camper I had. I feel that I paid for new and got used. Desired SettlementRefund - I just think that I was not informed that I was buying a camper with issues that were known by the dealership. I will never know what was done to the camper before purchase. I paid full price for a camper that they knew wasn't worth the full price. I would have no issues about what I paid if I had a perfect new unit that I thought it was. I bought a camper that I loved and still do but I would have purchased a different one of I was informed about the issues. I now have a camper with a history of repairs which would effect the worth of the unit. They would not even respond to me anymore after I had to call numerous times to report each new issue with the camper Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted], PresidentContact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email:[redacted]We agree the camper had repairs to be taken care of. There was a repair to the tank under the unit authorized by [redacted] and their directions were to use a specialty tape to put the underbelly back in place. The repair was directed by [redacted]. In light of that, we will never do it that way again. The problem she had was not at all related to the repair that was done. Just about every camper that goes through our lot requires some sort of repair. We certainly were not trying to hide anything. That being said, there were still problems with the camper. Because it was a new camper, it was covered by the Manufacturer warranty. We spent many hours on the phone with [redacted] and we decided that the best fix was to have a factory repair. We offered to bring it up to indiana at no cost to them and they declined. We were told that [redacted] was going to stand behind their product and make the customer happy. From what I understand, [redacted] made good on their promise and her camper has been fully taken care of at no cost to them. I'm proud of them for doing so. It says a lot about them.I have sent $500 to her apart from the manufacturer for her headache. I realize that it can't replace her time. Which I'm very sorry for. I learned a lot through this ordeal and am sorry for the process of how it was solved. Consumer Response The dealer doesn't seem to want to respond to my complaint that they did not inform me about the underside of the camper. They did hide that fact from me. They did not show me or tell me anything before or after the sale. They did keep that fact from me, the consumer. That has never been addressed by them. I saw for myself after the leaks and had to call the manufacturer since the dealer would not give me an answer. They did not make arrangements with the manufacturer to send the camper. The dealer did not want my camper to be brought back so the manufacturer had to make arrangements for my camper to go to another dealership for repairs, while there this other dealer made arrangements with the manufacturer to send it back to Indiana.The dealer contacted me by email after they found out about my report to Revdex.com. I was told by them that I was trying to damage their business by doing this. I did respond by telling them again that all of this could have been avoided if I was shown the underbelly and the tape. There have been numerous times I have told them why I have been upset with their sales practices. There is no person that would not have been upset to buy a new camper and find out it has so much damage. It was sold in unusable condition because of the tanks leaking. That did have to do with their repairs. They were not factory flaws as he likes to say.I also received an apology from the manufacturer saying they were sorry that the camper had to go all the way back to Indiana. They also said that we would never know exactly what happened at the dealer. That doesn't sound like they feel the repairs were due to factory defects.Basically my complaint has never been answered by this dealer and never will be. I told them I would not have bought this camper but would have bought another one from them at the time if I had been shown how bad this one looked. We would have never been in this situation. I hope they did learn something from this situation as he stated. I would hope they do change their sales practices and not hide things from consumers. Neither one of us can change how this transaction took place. I assume that this case is considered at resolution because it was repaired. My reason for reporting was because of the fact that they hid something from me so I was not able to make an informed choice on my purchase. If I posted pictures no one would think it was a new camper. Final Business Response Did my last response not go through? I sent it the next day.
