Car under warrenty. car finished last friday. [redacted]-Cottman sister franchises. work approved, payment authorized, car still held 5 days later.
Transmission rebuilt work done 6 weeks ago at Mt Vernon-Spokane, Wa [redacted]-drove to Grand Rapids, Mi-transmission burned out as we began our return trip to Washington...[redacted] had COTTMAN on Plainfield Ave, Grand Rapids, Mi do warranty repair-work finished Friday(9/28/12), Cottman would not release until credit card info from Spokane store was faxed. Talked to Spokane owner Saturday-they had mailed check-the Spokane [redacted] owner called Cottman,([redacted]) who refused to release vehicle, We are trying to get back to seattle...my 15 yo daughter is missing school...I had a shoulder replacement in june,and broke the same upper arm 2 weeks ago-i have already missed drs appt with my surgeon, and am putting my surgery at risk. I understand cottman and [redacted] are sister franchises. I do not understand why they do not trust each other...nor do I understand why they simply could not have worked together to cancel the check and give the credit card info on saturday. Today, (tuesday), I called [redacted] at 2pm to see if check came. he said no. I asked him when mail was usually delivered, and he told me 12 noon! I asked him to call me when he checked the mail, confirmed he had my number, and asked him to call me back. it is now 3:30pm, and I have not heard a thing. (nor has he ever called me...I had to call him every day after 5p to get updates, even though he had promised to call.) My wife had abdominal surgery on the 20th. she was in the hospital 10 days and is now home. we need to get back to seattle for many reasons, and my car remains hostage, work done, warranty payment approved, for 5 days! wednesday will be the 6th day...aside from health issues and daughter missing school, as with everyone else, time is money-including mine!
