Review: I purchased christmas ornaments from this store a week or so ago. I lost the receipt, however the store does honor unopened items and will give a store credit. The items that I was trying to return has the dee ii price tags still attached and are unopened. The store clerk told me I could not return them because they were last years ornaments. Which is not true because I purchased it this year. As I left the store I asked a stock personnel if this ornament was in stock this year; she stated that christmas items get sold out quickly. And they are constantly restocking. Also, no postings stating that this was last years orniments and the store policy on returning them. Had I seen a sign or knew of there policy on returns I would have been much more cautious with my purchase.Desired Settlement: All I would like is to get my money back.

Response:
Our company policy is not to accept returns without the receipt. We do
not issue store credits. We apologize that
the customer feels our policy is not fair. In this case, because the customer exhibits
such displeasure with our procedure we will happily return the unopened item
without receipt in our <st1:street w:st="on">[redacted]
store. She can go there any day between 11am-and 8pm and ask for the Store Manager,
[redacted], he will assist in the refund. Thank You.

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.
Sincerely,
Review: I made a purchase on 6/**/2013 and I went to the store on 7/**/2013 to get a partial refund. According to my calculations the time elapsed is exactly two weeks which is 14days (Friday to Friday). The cashier ([redacted]) counted the days and told me it was 15 days and she cannot "give me back the money". I explained that I do not want back the money since it was a credit card purchase, but instead a refund to my card. She said that I would need to "shop" for the amount of the refund. I explained that I had to go to work and did not have time but they could issue me a store credit and I could return at a later day and use it. She refused to issue me a store credit and instead suggested that I leave with the items I originally wanted to refund and return at a time when I could "shop".I again stress to her that she miscounted the days and it was only 14 days, a man from the office then came out and said he himself counted and it was 15 days. I explained that since there were 24 hours in a day, they cannot possible count June ** as day 1 but rather day 0 (zero). The man said the refund policy is "within" 14 days, using this as his excuse. My problem:1. why didnt't the store offer me a STORE CREDIT,even when I asked for it, but rather make me leave with the merchandise to return at a later day.2. The rudeness of the entire staff is appalling. EVEN IF it was only one day that I was late in returning the merchandise, why did they not try to "accommodate" the customer, namely myself.3. I am a frequent buyer at this store, now I feel like after everything has transpired that they do not value my business.Desired Settlement: Even though I want a refund, I would have settled for a store credit since I shop there frequently. To have been told to leave with the items I came to return and come back at a later day is utterly ridiculous, they wasted my time. I want a refund period.

Response:
Firstly DII would like to thank [redacted] for her patronage and state that the company
does value and cherish her business. Also, DII would like to formally
apologize for what seemly was a situation that could have been diffused by
the in store manager. Although we do have a strict policy on returns and
regardless of the count of days since purchase the manager can always make an
exception on this policy.
In regards to the question of store credit, unfortunately DII stores are not
set up with the mechanism to handle store credits.
Please allow us to make a full refund, as originally requested. You can bring
your items and store receipt to the [redacted] store during normal business
hours of 930am-8pm Monday to Saturday and 10am-6pm on Sundays. The manager’s
name is [redacted]. We look forward to serving you in the future
