This is in response to R*** S***'s complaint: We have a signed invoice attached As you will see the person that was at the vehicle when the key was made was not the person filing the complaint(I believe R*** is the customers mother) If the key did not turn over the
ignition, why did she sign and pay for services? It is true that the key would not start the car, but it did turn the ignition and the security light did go offFor all intensive purposes this would mean that the key is programmed to the vehicle This appears to be an electrical issue that we can not fix This was explained to the customer and she signed for services, paid, and took the key She did also explain that the car had recently been in an accident Ms S*** did call me (mind you a month after the fact) I explained that my only technician who could attempt to re-flash her key again was out of town for a death in the familyShe did not care I explained that I could send him to her on Monday She simply wanted a refund I explained that my technician provided a service and she had a key I could not simply give a refund without knowing the key was the issue She stated that she went to mechanics who told her two totally different stories: - you have to change the ignition (not true - locksmiths have the equipment to make keys for this vehicle, we have done it before Same year, make and model)- that Acura could fix it and re-program it for $She had me on a way call with the 2nd mechanic and he admitted that he does not have the equipment the dealerships or locksmiths haveAnd it was possible to have the key re-flashed to the car I explained if she could provide proof in writing that it was the key, I would refund the money She provided a quote from the dealership for a new ignition and key with a handwritten note that they could not program the key However, we have equipment that canThe note even says they can not provide the service, not that it can not be done I can provide that documentation if you would like and you can see where it is never stated that there is any issue with our key The technicians time was provided and the key was made It does turn the ignition and turns off the security system Ms S*** became very belligerent and threatening after I explained what I was requesting to get a refund A hand written note that says "we doubt this will work" is not proof there is any issue with my key Time, service, and product were provided I do not believe we should be required to provide a refund at this timeThe reason we stopped responding to Ms S*** is because she was harassing myself and my technician who was dealing with a recent death in the familyIf she can provide documentation that our key is at all defective I will issue a partial refund, because I can not use that key for any other car and I am out the technicians time and the cost of the key Thank you.M*** C***AMCE Locksmith Services

We are able to make the key We have done it before The dealership may say that the key is not programmed to the car but is there an issue with the key? No Has she asked the service department (not parts) if a locksmith can re-flash a key for her car? No It will work once once whatever issue is keeping it from programming is resolvedIf the dealership is certain there is not an electrical malfunction keeping the car from recognizing the key, then I may be willing to send a technician to resolve the issue and attempt to program the keyThe customer (who in all actuality is the customers mother) is not able to provide that documentation as I am sure she does not want to pay for the diagnostics required to determine if there is an electrical issue with the car I (M*** C***) did offer to send a technician to her once he returned from his trip A trip he took for the loss of his grandmother However, she continued to call and harass not only myself but my technician as well We are a family owned business and believe family will always come first and for someone to have the disrespect to harass someone while grieving the death of a loved one is completely unacceptable I was not willing to ask my technician to go back and help this woman who refused to respect the fact that he was out of town grieving when she filed her initial complaint (a month after we made the key).We have a signed invoice Customer has the key Customer is not able to provide documentation that the key will not work the vehicle once programmed, or that there is not an electrical issue that is keeping the key from being recognized I am happy to work with someone who can provide what I am asking since she is requesting a full refund, but she utilized my technicians time, knowledge, and still has the product in her possession

My car was towed to *** *** inGreenville SC and it has been determined that it was in fact the key that was not programmed to my carThe exact reason In which the other mechanics told the co owner previouslyA replacement key for a Acura RL can not be made if both original keys have been lostThe owners of Acme Locksmith was also told this verbally by the service manager at *** ***My car had to have a new ignition because the keys Acme Locksmith made would not workM***, the co owner of Acme Locksmith promised to send her technician back out to re-flash the key they originally made prior to me having my car towed to Acura DealershipShe did not send a technician out because she knew a replacement key was impossible to make for My make and model carI am requesting a full refund of my money.

The immobilized unit is the program to the car. The key in which Acme Locksmith made would turn the switch but was not programmed so that my immobilizer unit would read it.. bottom line the key was not programmed. It is NOT possible to program a key for a 2002 Acura RL if you loose both original keys. There was and is nothing mechanically wrong with my car. The service Manager at Acura is willing to speak with Acme Locksmith over the phone and provide additional statements to the Revdex.com proving that it was in fact the key. I've forwarded statements from Acura DealershipR[redacted]

It is clear from the attached receipts that the immobilizer needed to be changed.  There was an issue with the vehicle, not the key itself.  The services and product we provided are not faulty.

R[redacted] S[redacted]this is not true. I only called Acme Locksmith back after they did not send someone back out to "reflash" the key as promised. I will submit documentation from Acura Dealership after I pay and pick up my daughters car on Friday proving that it was in fact they key and not anything mechanically wrong with my daughters car. This owner has spoken with Acura Dealership and argued that the Dealership didn't know what they were talking about when they told them that it's not possible to replicate a key for this make and model car if both original keys are lost. My only question is to Acme Locksmith, if they could reflash the key why didn't they send someone back out to do so as they promised when "the only technician they had who could do so was back in town" ? I've called 2 other popular locksmith companies ; Pop a Lock and AAA Locksmith and asked if they could replace keys to this make and model car and they both gave me the same response as the Dealership. After I submit the receipt from Acura Dealership and the diagnostic test fromAcura Dealership proving my daughters car has no mechanical issues, I'm curious to see if Acme Locksmith will refund my money .
