Review: I hired them to clean my apartment. On about the third visit, I later discovered extensive damage to a three-year-old piece of furniture in top condition. I only happened to notice a bulge under the runner on my dresser. When I uncovered it, there were paper towels rolled up underneath. When I tried to remove the paper toweling, it stuck to the surface and proceeded to take the finish off. What I finally uncovered was an area 10" x 6" of damaged wood. I immediately called the company to report my findings. I was alarmed to not only find the damage but at the fact that the cleaning woman never brought it to my attention and instead attempted to hide it from me. I left them a voicemail message that I expected them to cover any and all costs for repair. I then called my furniture company who said they would dispatch a repairman and that I would be charged $65 right then for them to come out and inspect. Additionally, I repeatedly tried to contact the company by phone, e-mail and text. They never answered or returned a phone call and only haphazardly replied to the texts and e-mails after much persistence on my part. The furniture repairman was unable to repair the damage and advised that it needed to be stripped and refinished. I obtained the name of a reputable repair company who came a few weeks later and was able to restore the piece to its original status. I advised the cleaning company that the cost would be $280, and I expected them to reimburse me that amount as well as the original $65. They responded with two different offers of complimentary cleanings which they felt was the equivalent of what I'd been charged. When I asked what was spilt on the furniture, I was told it was the scented oils that are plugged into the wall. I do not have them in my apartment nor would allow anyone to use them, as I fear they are a fire hazard. I never got a complete answer as to why they would be used or what was really spilt which caused this damage. I provided several pictures of the damage.Desired Settlement: I would like full monetary reimbursement for what I was charged for negligent damage to a good piece of furniture.
