Review: Transmission was dropped off out of a 2003 chevrolet s10, transmission I received back had the serial numbers from the factory ground out of it. Not everything dropped off with the transmission was returned i.e. wiring harness bolts, neutral safety switch. They also damaged the tailgate from my truck and denied responsibility. Transmission is also leaking already, I do not believe it was dyno tested as stated.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement for tailgate damage. I also wanted to document how the transmission was given to me in case a warranty issue arises, which I see happening.

Mr [redacted] did bring a transmission to DJ'S Transmission to have it rebuilt, but we were unaware that there was a issue with the transmission. I will contact Mr [redacted] & we will address the problem to make sure it gets resolved. I was never contacted or told there was any issues with either the transmission or any damage caused in loading the transmission.

I thought my 1999 Montero was done for. The motor was OK, but it was towed to my home and sat for 3 months. I did my homework and knew that I was in for 2500.00.. But that amopunt was less than a new vehicle so I decided to have it fixed. [redacted] towing came and got it. and took it to DJ's. I got a call from [redacted] 2 days later. He said that the Montero was fine and to come a get it. I was presented with a bill for 175.00, and told that the only problem was the leeky hoses and the fluids they replaced. I think it was a miracle that I could have connected by chance to a totally honest transmission specialist. Maybe I was lucky, but the truck is running fine now, and DJ fixed it for a fraction of what I was told by others.

Dj's service has recently gone down hill in my opinion. Several years ago I had a transmission rebuilt on my 2003 caravan. They rebuilt the transmission in a couple days and they stood behind the rebuild when the output shaft seal leaked. I made an appointment and they fixed the problem while I waited (very good service).
In November 2014 I had a transfer case rebuilt on my 2002 grand Cherokee. The repair took around 2 weeks- very slow service. The output seal leaked shortly after. I have been topping off the fluid at my expense as I tried getting in to have the seal replaced under warranty. The problem is that they will not make an appointment for me. In other words; I am asking them to do the repair within 1 day, which is very reasonable and they will not do that. They say they are too busy to guarantee my seal would be replaced in 1 day. Poor service. I am not happy. I am no longer doing business with them.

Review: had my transmission rebuilt in my 2001 Nissan pathfinder. 2 year 24000 mile warranty. service was done in September 2012. In late may 2015 started having trouble with the passing gear not engaging. When I took it in, was told that it was out of warranty, They kept the auto for several days before getting back to me to say the tork converter was bad and quoted me a price of $ 800.00. I agreed and they kept the auto for another several days until June 8, 2015. When I picked up the car the invoice was vague as to what was done, and only said out of warranty work. Upon my test drive ,the problem with the passing gear had not changed. Contacted the shop and was told to come back the next day. They said they couldn't get to it, but if came back that Saturday June 13, they could check it out. Was at the show at 7:30am and was told they couldn't get to look at it and to come back mid week. Came back on June 24 at 7:30am and dropped off auto. Got a call that afternoon informing me that the tps sensor was bad and was causing the problem with the passing gear and that it would cost another $100 plus to fix. This should probable have been done before the $800.00 job. Auto still in shop as of this complaint.

Re: Mr [redacted] Djs' transmission rebuilt his transmission & torque in 2012 recently his torque converter went out so we had to rebuild his transmission converter again & we did it fort a for a fraction of what a rebuild would normally cost.Parts for these vehicles are somewhat difficult to get & are not always in stock. We had an issue with lost power this week which pushed our schedule out. I did offer to install the throttle position sensor at our cost, this is a engine part & not part of the transmission but it does control transmission pressure & passing gear.We do have the parts but Mr [redacted] needed the vehicle today, once he brings it back we will install the TPS sensor.

Response:

I have offered to do the work, the part has been sitting here since before the claim was made, I have tried multiple time to contact MR [redacted] but he has not returned my phone calls. We have done every thing we could to accommodate MR [redacted] by repairing his transmission, being out of warranty any other place would have charged him the full price of rebuilding his transmission.Being a Nissan parts are just not as cheap & available as most domestic vehicles, and parts coming from japan have been back ordered on some for up to 3 months. The offer stands, bring the vehicle and we can try to resolve this issue, it will take at least 1 hr to install the part, he will get his vehicle back same day.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: I contacted this shop on Saturday morning around 8:30 am because the transmission in my ford escape was done. I spoke with the gentleman who informed me that the price for my transmission was roughly $1800 and if I got it into him before noon on Saturday I could pick up my car either Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. Around 9:30 on Saturday as the tow truck was in my driveway picking up my vehicle, I received a call from DJ's informing me that they made a mistake and the actual price was closure to $2800. After expressing my displeasure we agreed to a price of $2300 plus tax. I was again informed that the vehicle would be finished by Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning and that someone would call me on Monday afternoon with an update. At around 3:30 pm on March 2nd I called DJ's for an update on the vehicle. I was informed that they just started working on it and I should be able to pick it up Tuesday afternoon. I called DJ's at around 11:30 on March 3rd asking them about my vehicle and was informed that they would have to get back to me. About 20 minutes later I received a call informing me that the car was just being looked at and I would not get it back until Thursday. When asked why I was told differently on Saturday I was informed that the person I spoke to was new and did not know what he was doing.Desired Settlement: I would like my vehicle completed today as told or decrease the price to $1800 which includes the tax. I can not even imagine what a nightmare this will be in the event that I have problems with the work completed. Any help would be appreciated.

Review: on 9/21/2011 my car was put in the transmission shop and was supposed to have a rebuilt transmission.almost every 10,000 miles my car has had a transmission problem and this is the sixth time my car has been put in their shop. I dropped the car off on 5/19/2015 and I just called today 6/8/2015 and the guy just told me that they still haven't even looked at my car at all.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back or a complete repair on my car. I am in the looking to take these matters to court if no actions are done.

DJ'S Installed a transmission in September of 2011 in his vehicle, which carry's a 2 year 24,000 mile warranty we also did some repairs in June of 2012 which was covered under his warranty, also January of 2013 we repaired a broken wire, & in august of 2014 we replaced a speed sensor. We don't turn people away even out of warranty which was the real issue, there may be a charge for parts & labor, regardless I will look at the vehical tommorow and report back to the owner.

NEVER GO TO DJS TRANSMISSION
When I first told him it was driving rough right after they rebuilt the transmission they told me "it needs to get used to your driving habits." Few days later it needed to be towed in for the first time. They wouldn't tell me what was wrong with it, just said it was covered by warranty.
Second time it needed to be towed in they Told me "it should be fine" when trans temp was 284 degrees 5 mins later something went wrong and dumped out fluid everywhere while on freeway towed to ATRA member shop and Djs wouldn't let them do any work to the car. So DJs had it towed from northern fond du lac Back to Milwaukee. The other shop told me they didn't even put the cotter keys back on for the ball joints, and that my transmission should have been at least $3k Djs only wanted $1,700. Certainly makes me wonder what quality parts or work is done here. I didn't hear from them for days and wasn't told they even towed my car until I called on a Monday asked for update and was told it would be done either end of day Monday or first thing Tuesday didn't get a call until Thursday.
Third thing my car was making a knocking noise they told me it was motor mounts. So they replaced them and said my car had 5 mounts which there's only 4 so they over charged me for that. So my car was still making the same noise took it in and they came up with my car needing new lower ball joints, control arms, and bushings. So I take it to another shop and they find nothing wrong with any of those. In fact I had a lose tie rod end. Which is something djs transmission never even told me was wrong. they just wanted another $1,000 from me. Never will I go there or would suggest anyone to ever go there
