Received call from Dennis *** (owner), providing business response.Mr *** says that Mr *** came in looking for a Chevy Vmotor -- an employee showed it to Mr ***, and he opted to purchase itMr *** points out that the motor was initially priced / valued at $500, but it was
discounted to $because the employee knew Mr ***.He says Mr *** then returned a few days later reporting issues with the motor -- i.e., missing / non-functioning componentsFrom the customer's comments, Mr *** says it was clear Mr *** expected a "complete" motor he could simply drop in his vehicle and go, when the motor he purchased was not priced or represented as suchMr *** mentioned at this time that a friend had told him the motor was "too much," and that every other motor he'd ever purchased was complete and ready to go.Mr *** says Mr *** initially asked DK Auto Salvage to throw in all the additional parts he would need to make the motor ready to useWhen the business explained it could not do this (as these other parts are priced separately, and could not simply be given for free), Mr *** indicated he simply wished to return the motor, which DK Auto Salvage allowed him to do.Mr *** says that parts such as this motor are subject to a 25% restocking fee, to cover the time and labor spent retrieving it from the yard, loading it in the customer's vehicle, unloading it from the customer's vehicle, etcHe says this 25% restocking fee policy is posted both on a sign at the counter in the business, and on another sign on the wall.Mr *** was not pleased to have to pay this restocking fee, and asked the business to reduce the fee to $instead of $As the business wishes to adhere to its established policy on restocking fees, Mr *** indicates that DK Auto Salvage will not be able to honor Mr ***'s request to reduce or waive the restocking fee
