Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: We got the permit but we need the plumbing inspection approved The reason we told Dell we would be responsible was because the floor plan had been approved and permit received We had done according to the floor plan (Rather, since the plumbing work had been done prior to our purchasing the house, the floor plan was drawn according to the existing plumbing work.) Dell was to sign the contractor's statement, contact the inspector, and see that the plumbing inspection is approved I have just called Dell who finally told me what need to be done We will have it done according to his instruction and call him back to see that it should pass inspection I appreciate the help of Revdex.com to help us get this far Sincerely, [redacted] ***

I don't remember having any other form of agreement other than Dell's signature on the Contractor's Statement and the plumbing inspector's implication that Dell is to see that the inspection be passed, not the owner contractor

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:Thanks to Revdex.com, Dell is finally communicating with us after over a year! Dell is correct that we are the Owner Contractor being responsible for all the work When we bought the house almost years ago, the addition was already there, although it looks like no permit had been obtained We thus drew the floor plans according to what was existing when we submitted the permit application and the floor plans were approved WE paid the permit fee of $(see attached), not Dell Dell did advise us that it was not in compliance with the plumbing code and we said we would be responsible However, when he signed the contractor’s statement, he should be responsible to see that we should pass inspectionWhen we checked with the Building Department early 2015, we were told it had passed For whatever reason, when we checked again in early 2016, we were told that it had not passed We called the inspector a couple of times when we were not able to get hold of Dell The inspector would not tell us what need to be done, except that he said Dell, the licensed plumber, should know I left messages for Dell, telling him that we would find someone else to do the work, but we need to know what need to be done If Dell had told us what need to be done earlier, we would not have wasted all this time calling, emailing, filing complaints, getting frustrated. We need Dell to tell us what need to be done and see that we pass the inspection Since his name is on the Contractor’s Statement, he is responsible to call the inspector and get the project completed Sincerely, [redacted] ***

I am rejecting this response because:Thanks to Revdex.com, Dell is finally communicating with us after over a year!   Dell is correct that we are the Owner Contractor being responsible for all the work.  When we bought the house almost 40 years ago, the addition was already there, although it looks like no permit had been obtained.  We thus drew the floor plans according to what was existing when we submitted the permit application and the floor plans were approved.  WE paid the permit fee of $382.00 (see attached), not Dell.  Dell did advise us that it was not in compliance with the plumbing code and we said we would be responsible.  However, when he signed the contractor’s statement, he should be responsible to see that we should pass inspection. When we checked with the Building Department early 2015, we were told it had passed.  For whatever reason, when we checked again in early 2016, we were told that it had not passed.  We called the inspector a couple of times when we were not able to get hold of Dell.  The inspector would not tell us what need to be done, except that he said Dell, the licensed plumber, should know.   I left messages for Dell, telling him that we would find someone else to do the work, but we need to know what need to be done.  If Dell had told us what need to be done earlier, we would not have wasted all this time calling, emailing, filing complaints,… getting frustrated. We need Dell to tell us what need to be done and see that we pass the inspection.  Since his name is on the Contractor’s Statement, he is responsible to call the inspector and get the project completed.
Sincerely,
