In response to the revised complaint from *** *** ***, the attached lease outlines the cleaning and pool cleaning services in section 6. "Housekeeping to be paid in cash upon check out - confirm price at check in." As stated in the original and revised complaint - fees were confirmed
to the tenant by the cleaning service."Pool &/OR Hot Tub service deducted from security deposit as per Landlord" is stated in the lease verbatimThe cost for cleaning service fees and pool service fees are not services provided by our company We simply do our best to assist in the process of coordinating these services for the homeowner and their tenants The cleaning company gets paid directly from the customer as we do not manage those fees which is why *** *** and his group left cash for the cleaning team The pool service fee is paid in advance by the homeowner at the beginning of the season and with each rental - the tenants pay for that week of service It is deducted from the security deposit and paid to the homeowner as stated in the lease. There were no fees quoted for these services in writing as our company does not manage these services and pricing can vary which is why our agent simply gave an estimate of around a particular amountI am very sorry that the tenants are unhappy but it is not at the fault of our company or the agent representing We outlined everything in the lease as to how the process works We do not feel this complaint is relevant to our real estate office but to the cleaning team that charged them.Regards,Fire Island Properties, ltd

To clear up some confusion, the cleaning team is NOT contracted by Fire Island Properties, LTD...but the homeowner. Again, this real estate office has NOTHING to do with housecleaning services or pool services!!!The rental agent has offered up the $dollars to close this matter However, the additional charges are NOT that of this real estate office This matter should have been taken up with the cleaning service. The payment will be sent today and this matter will be closed

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The business (agent) did quote me a price for the cleaning fee services and the cleaning company was contracted by the business so they are in fact responsible for any misleading claims about the actual cost. It also shows a lack of professionalism and courtesy on their part that they did not explain this process more clearly, or at all, to us. We are paying a premium for their services and did not receive the customer service requisite for paying over $5000 for a week's stay. This high price also demands a high level of service which was not met. In fact, the services provided were sub-par and the house was not even clean when we arrived and then we ended up paying $75 over what was quoted by the agent. Additionally the very text of the lease was not met as the fee was never communicated to us by the agent, even though the lease states this should have been specified on the very first day we checked in. We had to go out of our way to ask the cleaning company ourselves. Because of these reasons and because of the misleading statements by the agent we should be reimbursed this amount.
