D & L's Auto Sales Reviews (1)

Purchase price of vehicle was $1700 and warranty was $100 for total of $1800. Yes, I sold a top of the line extended van with stow-n-go for this price as listed on the warranty information that was registered with [redacted] on 6-20-2016. I took the van to an independent, non-affiliated...

garage and had them install 4 different rims, 4 tires, brakes and rotors, and some exhaust work plus a used battery. The garage, [redacted] Repair, told [redacted] about the wheel bearing and the A/C. It is a total lie that I said all it needed was recharged - any information given on the van was given to [redacted] by the garage - not me. A copy of the report was given to the customer. The warranty check cleared 6-24-2016. I have and will provide a copy of an As-Is form signed by [redacted] where I deducted $400 at the time of purchase for the above listed bearing, A/C, and body work.      This is why I cannot understand the Revdex.com complaint. Imagine, I got a call at the end of September from [redacted]. I got no garage name, no estimated bill, and no individual prices. He thought that I should just send him $815 and pay for everything. He even wanted me to pay for the new stickers. Very reasonable. He said it needed three tie rods (but they were going to do all 4), a $9 exhaust gasket, a wheel bearing, a motor mount, and body work. My cost for ALL the parts from [redacted] came to roughly $158 ($14x2, $20x2, $9, $52, and $29). Therefore, I offered him $180 maximum as this was my actual profit from the vehicle. I thought it was extremely unfair that he was asking me to pay for things he was told about at the time of purchase AND for things that I had already taken $400 off of the price. Also, why should I have to pay for the stickers? Or the body work that was disclosed? Or the wheel bearing and A/C that was listed on the garage report?      Even [redacted] list of prices comes to roughly $247. He told me $58 for outers, $70 for inners, $9 gasket, $70 bearing, and $40 for mount. The stickers are $40. So there is $528 labor!? Please. I talked to him very respectably, never raised my voice, tried to explain areas where he was being unfair, and offered $180 without any documentation in a situation where 99% of the other car lots would not even have given him the time of day. Who takes $400 off the price of a vehicle for disclosed deficiencies and then gives $815 more for the same deficiencies (not counting the tie rods and the mount). And finally, shouldn't even the $180 be on the garage [redacted] Repair. I had the vehicle taken to an independent garage so that there would not be any cronyism. It was 100% looked over by this garage and the report was disclosed to [redacted]. I had it done the way it's supposed to be done.
