Review: On 7/**/2014 I signed a contract with [redacted] the [redacted] of DMAC Design & Development to perform work on my property. He was to provide all the labor and material to remove existing patio in back of house, frame new stamped concrete patio and pour it. He would also was to remove existing stairs & deck and install a French drain. I paid him $7000 on this contract. In addition, on 9/**/2014 I signed a second contact to install a retaining wall on the high side of the patio, remove a tree stump and tank. I paid him $2000 to obtain material for the retaining wall contract. Therefore, I have him a total of $9000. He did the following labor of removing the deck, the existing patio, the stairs and dugout the back and framed out half the patio. However, he took the pavers from the patio and buried them behind my house in a ditch I has paid a previous contractor to make in order to divert water from flowing near my shed and house. Furthermore, I have been in contact with him and he has made numerous excuses from family emergencies to being arrested and even promised he wasn’t stalling and work will be done by 9/**/2014. However, no work was done. I then called the [redacted] Police Department. Police Officer [redacted] who took a report and gave me a case# [redacted]. The officer stated he has been doing this over the town.Desired Settlement: I want my money back. In addition, he claims to have limited liability insurance file number [redacted].

Review: First Contract was to cut down 5 trees, and totally remove 2 stumps in order to set up for planting privacy hedges along the back property line. Second contract was for the purchasing and planting of 25 6" Leyland Cypress trees to gain privacy in the backyard. Estimated time was 1 week. [redacted], the owner was paid for the first job (contract) when he was done cutting down the trees (even though he had not yet removed the stumps)and given 100. extra for incentive, 2,600, total. Second contract included a large deposit of 950.00 (in a check on 6/*/13) for 19 trees, and then an extra 420.00 for 4 more trees to be added (in cash on 6/*/13).After many postponements, [redacted] showed up on 6/**/13 and said he was bringing 3 foot arborvitaes. I told my husband, and my husband called him, at which time [redacted] said that he never said that. Although upset, I wanted this job done already, and explained that since the goal was privacy I could accept another fast growing tree, but it had to be 6' tall. [redacted] said it was a good thing I was there (I had taken off work to make sure this was going to get done right). He showed up 8 hours later with 12 6' slow growing arborvitae (I looked that up after he left, when he arrived with them he said they were fast growing), planted 4, without loosening or taking the wire and burlap off, and barely digging to plant, and said that he had to leave in an hour to take his son to a baseball game. He obviously did not know what he was doing and this was a job that would never end, nor would it be done right. It was also obvious that the money that I gave him was not spent to purchase the trees that I ordered from [redacted]. He was out shopping for trees on 6/**/13 2 weeks after I had given him the money. In an effort to get the job done, he wanted me to sacrifice what I wanted and got extremely upset when I was not willing do so. He brought police to my house because his equipment was blocked in by my cars and took the remaining 8 trees with his trailer, and left me with a mess.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back for the trees I paid for, $1,370.00, and for the removal of the stumps that he did not do, approximately $500.00. I would also like damages in the amount of 500.00 for my lawn clean up and replacement of plants damaged while the trees were being removed.
