Last month, I was looking into Todd's Run Apartments located in Williamsburg, Ohio. I got in touch with a lady by the name of [redacted]. After seeing the apartment, I decided that I wanted it, so [redacted] offered to take the $210 down on the apartment, which I ended up giving to Deer Point Apartments in Amelia, OH (ran by the same company) because they were the only ones who could give me a receipt, and when I got there, the lady at the desk didn't even know what I was there for. She even said herself that nobody tells her anything that's going on, and laughed it off like it didn't matter. After discovering that my application had been denied twice, I decided to give up on the apartment and get my deposit back, which [redacted] stated was completely refundable. [redacted] told me I could get my deposit back if I ended up not getting the apartment, but she failed to tell me that I would have to wait until someone else had rented the apartment. I was very unhappy, but I agreed to wait until someone had rented out the apartment to be fair. I contacted her almost every day, checking on the status of my deposit, and every day she would tell me that I would have to wait. Eventually, around April 3rd, she told me someone rented the apartment and was moving in that Friday (April 4th) and on Monday (April 7th), she asked for my address to send my deposit to me by check, which didn't make sense to me because I figured I could just go get it back in cash where I handed it in, but I guess that wasn't how it worked. So I waited about a week and a half before contacting her again. I contacted her today asking her about my deposit because I still have not received it. She stated that she sent it out on April 8th to my BATAVIA address and that I should've already received it, when I specifically told her that I wanted it sent to my BETHEL address. Luckily I am still at my Batavia address for another week, but I think something coming from Williamsburg to Bethel (or even Batavia, if she made that mistake) should be here by now. Its been almost 2 weeks.

Basically, what I am trying to say is, this was completely done out of whack. I should not have been able to turn in my deposit until my application was approved, and I didn't realize that until people started telling me that. [redacted] also started acting really weird after I stated that I didn't want the apartment anymore. She went from emailing me back at least once or twice a day to ignoring my emails and making up excuses as to why she's not around.
