Scripps overcharged me on my past 3 treatments. The amounts paid by insurance and the patient exceeded treatment costs by $994.20.

Over the past two years, Scripps has over charged me on 100% of our treatments that resulted in out of pocket costs to myself and my husband (the patients). The amounts billed and paid by my insurance Delta Dental and amounts billed and paid by the patients, exceeded the total treatment costs by $994.20 and in every instance, Scripps Dental never said a word, they kept the money.

I just had some dental work done and when I received my paper work from delta dental, as I was throwing it away, I noticed that the patients portion was much less than what I actually paid. I called Scripps immediately and let them know they overcharged me. Then I started thinking that I've never really paid much attention to what I paid out of pocket in the past and never compared it against my insurance claim forms so I decided to go back two years. It ends up that Scripps Dental over charged me $994.20 and never said a word - unbelievable!

When Scripps realized they were over paid on the treatment they should have refunded the over payment to us, their patients. If 100% of the time I was over charged, then I have no doubt in my mind that this has happened to other patients at Scripps and maybe even other dental offices. Scripps is refusing to refund my money so I have filed a grievance with delta dental and am waiting to hear back and see if I should also dispute the charges with my credit card company in order to be refunded the amounts that are overpaid.

Below, I have provided a breakdown of the treatments, total cost and amount paid by myself and Delta Dental. I can provide you with all my credit card statements and claim forms from my insurance provider. I think Scripps is doing this to their other patients as well. They intentionally overestimate the patients portion and then under estimate the insurance portion and over collect and pocket the money and never say a word.

Please look into this, I am confident that they are doing this any chance they get. This is fraud and they need to be audited. I have all the documents to prove my case.
