I live at The Vineyards on Lake Wylie and have had issues with the builder and sales people using questionable sales tactics The sales people have told different stories to different people to fit that that consumers needs
The lot behind my house is the one in question If the people have kids they were told there would be a school built there, if they were a single they were told it would be a sports complex
Dr Horton's sales person *** sold me a house that was to be built on a premium lot I was told by *** that this was considered to be a premium lot because the home would back up to a park with tennis courts, dog park and other types of sporting items He showed me the community map with all the amenities but the sales person, *** never specified that DRH did not even own the land *** also said that the park was not a proposed location albeit some of the items in the park were proposed
The extra cost for this premium lot was $which was eventually negotiated in to the sale and that DRH would pay the $at closing After the sale of the home DR Horton decided it would make more money by putting homes in this area instead of a park
Because of DR Hortons actions my lot is no longer considered premium and therefore the value of my house has dropped $ I have tried to work with DRH with no successDRH's sales personel are scammers
[redacted], the Charlotte warranty representative for DR Horton, will not respond to phone calls or emails concerning warranty issues. Keep in mind, if you purchase a DR Horton home, they advertise both a 1 and 10 year warranty, but chances are they will ignore you in an attempt to not honor the written warranty.
