Review: My house was leaking on July 19th. I contacted the builder,it's D.R. Horton, but until now, I still waiting the result.Nobody can really to help me.

I purchased this house just after it was build up in 2008.On July 19th this year, we went out a whole day for attending my husband's company's party with my family, nobody was at home. But when we cam back about 10pm, I found the water came through the ceiling in the formal dining room. I went upstairs to check, everything is fine, no any leaking in that area.So we have no idea what happened. I contact the builder(D.R.Horton) the next day. They said they will send someone here to check, but it is 4 days later. So I found a plumber to stop the leaking on Monday, July 21st. The plumber told us the parts under the faucet of the tub which is located above the formal dining room was loose, so when we turn on the water of the tub, it will leak, after we turn it off, it will stop. And we found the mold on the board of ceiling. But we seldom use that tub, so we thought that should be a long term issue, because we can not found any leaking until the water came through the ceiling. Maybe it already has this issue when we purchase this house, it's possible. So we contact D.R.Horton again and again, but they still don't have any result, I already wait over one month, the water damaged area is still there, it is very inconvenient for us. I think it is a small case for a builder, but it last a long time until now, I called them every week, even almost every day in one week, I feel so bad and so tired to do this. It waste my lot of time and I feel hopeless. Desired Settlement: I hope they will resolve this issue soon and give me a answer that who will be responsible for the damage.

Our plumber did go out and inspect the home for leaks. He did not find any but did see some water damage on the first floor ceiling under the second floor bathroom. He thought the damage might have been from children playing in the tub. I did not know she had a plumber fix a loose connection? We will contact Mrs. [redacted] ASAP to discuss.

Will not complete work agreed on in face to face meeting at property. Will not take calls. Will not show up when promised.
Original Claim, July 21st
On site meeting Aug 21st after being hung up on by office staff and pushing back
Purchased new home from DR Horton on Feb 14th 2012
Lots on either side were vacant at the time of purchase.
DR Horton Built home on east and west sides of my property line with elevated lots. Water from landscaping put in by DR Horton now pools in my lot and I have mud 24/7. There was an original drain plain that was interrupted by the elevated lots. There was no problem until these lots were built.
On July 21st I filed a standard warrantee claim to have this corrected along with several other items. I was inundated with with Sub-Contractors calling to do warrantee work but they were all calling my wife.
They were the wrong subs for most of the issues. Not once did DR Horton call me to discuss my problems and get a better understanding. They did not read the section "preferred contact method" listing my cell number and my name
Finally after a few phone calls to them and some conversation with frustrated subcontractors for being called out to do work that was not their responsibility I called the office again and got a call back from a man who's name I did not get telling me he was in charge of the problem and he began a very condescending lecture on the validity of my concern and arguing that they did not do anything wrong. When I verbally pushed back after listening to his lecture for 5 minutes he hung up on me.
I called him right back and asked him "Did you just hang up on me" He said in an extremely condescending tone "Yes, let's keep this on a professional level" I answered "We left professional when you hung up on me. You are not who I need to be talking to, goodbye"
I then called DR Horton's office and left a message. I got a call from "[redacted]" and he agreed to meet me at my property on Aug 21st. at the meeting we agreed on a solution and a start date. Its was to possibly be end of that week, or start of following week. We agreed that the solution was.
!. Correct grade of my lot that now conflicts with new build elevated to my east. New build causes water to retain on my lot. Specifically we agreed
a. Remove Sod
b. bring up elevation that is now a dip due to new build blocking original drain plane on east side by backfilling and correcting grade against east property line and carry correction out to balance of east side yard for attractive transition.
c. Trench and install water control drainage pipe embedded in aggregate and wrapped in cloth ON BOTH SIDES of property (east and west) since west side demonstrated similar effects although less severe.
d. Replace SOD removed for same in professional manner
e. And re-work sprinkler system for proper operation on entire lot after modification
Start date was missed with no communication. After two week I called brad and he finally called me back stating that the delay was his subcontractor wanted 2000.00 to do that work and he felt that was out of line. He told me he would have his laborers do the work and they would be there in a couple days and stay until the project was complete. I reminded him of the expectations and having been in construction so that we were on the same page. 2000.00 I considered to be a bid missing several items based on our agreement.
Laborers never an email from Shirley, office gal, stating that they had decided to have 'Property Management" a landscape company do the job at their expense.
It is not 2.5 months after the original claim and the only person that will talk to me is Shirley. She is caught in the middle. She did talk to brad who said he is determined to get this done before winter so it does not end up on his list of things to do next year.
Unsatisfactory in the extreme.. I cannot finish my yard. I cannot build a fence, I cannot get them to keep their commitments. I cannot get them to even call me now. Poor Secretary is left to deal with me and I imagine others like me.
