Sales person told me an untrue statement, that an issue had been corrected when in fact it had not been.
On 7/10/12 I purchased a 2006 F150 truck with a salvage title from D&T Auto. The reason for the salvage title I was told was due to sugar in the gas tank. I was also told that he thought it was not sugar but in fact salt. He said he had flushed out the tank and had been driving the truck himself and had put a couple of tanks of gas through it.The truck seemed to run well so we purchased it "As Is". My wife took the truck 7 days after purchase and experienced engine trouble. It was caused by sugar in the gas tank that plugged the fuel injectors on half the engine, thus ruining the engine and causing the engine to overheat. This then caused the truck to have an electrical fire making the truck inoperable. The end result was having the truck towed to Tousley Ford ([redacted]) for electrical repair,a new engine and fuel injectors, and a gas tank flush. Tousley Ford found a large amount of sugar (at least 5 lbs.) when they flushed the tank. This ended up to be a $3,736.42 cost to my insurance Co. for electrical repairs and towing and my wife and I incurred costs of $8,217.21 for a new engine, fuel injectors, and deductable. I feel he misrepresented the vehiclewhen he sold it telling me that the salvage issue had been corrected.
