My 2-zone house in MD originally had Trane units installed my Chilltrol When the company went out of business, all service calls were handled by One Hour Hearing and Air I called in Dec when there was an issue with my furnace They came out, sold me a service policy because of the age of my units and fixed the problem In February 2016, the gas furnace failed It needed to be replaced The quote from Chilltrol/One Hour was over $12, I had another very reputable contractor install a new furnace for $that had better reviews, a better rating and a better warranty than One Hour was quoting, for half the price By July 2016, when my heat pump in Zone stopped working, another One Hour franchisees that had picked up Chilltrol's old contracts was sent to my home This One Hour, located in Aberdeen MD, installed a new capacitor and a booster that I didn't ask for Four days later, the year old heat pump failed I called One Hour who came back out and said it was the compressor They could replace it, but there were no guarantees that it would hold up with an year old system, and something else could go wrong I was quoted $for a seer Goodman The heat was sweltering, and One Hour promised if I just signed up that day, they could get the unit right away Something didn't feel right about the whole experience I said no, and got a second opinion even though it resulted in a service call by another company Glad I did Once the booster was removed and another capacitor installed, there was nothing wrong with my unit It may be years old, but was never used except when we were sleeping, so it does not have nearly the hours on it as the Zone unit Bottom line: difference One Hour franchisees in the Baltimore metro area charge outrageous prices for installing units and in one case caused the problem by installing an unnecessary booster that I am very fortunate, did not cost me my compressor Unless you want to be sold an overpriced and possibly unnecessary unit, I would stay away from them
We have been using this business for 3 years. Recently the business was sold and became ONE HOUR AIR. We called for a freon charge and were told the cost was $450. This cost was due to the elimination of freon production and freon was over $100/lb. We accepted their explanation and had the unit charged. I became suspicious and checked the cost of freon online. The cost was something like 30 lbs for &150. I checked with another heating and air company They charge around $150 for the service. According to your website the Revdex.com does not get involved with cost. Even if you can not assist with this issue I want to warn other consumers about this company.
