D2D Movers Reviews (%countItem)

I hired D2D based on their website's promise to protect your furniture and to treat it like their own.D2D Movers did not show up to my scheduled move.2 men in a pick up truck and trailer that was way too small for my move showed up and advised they were sub-contracted by D2D.D2D overbooked themselves and had to outsource some workers they deemed good enough to move my belongings.D2D never told me they couldn't accommodate my move & sent these men without my knowledge or consent. The movers that came were unprepared & unprofessional.I cringed during the entire move because of the way my furniture was handled. None of my furniture was wrapped and no blankets were used and no pads were used on the flat roller that was used to transport the furniture.I could go on about the lack of experience and lack care they had for my belongings. The trailer they brought was too small so they ended up cramming the furniture in there. They tried to shove my velvet bedframe up a stairway damaging the bed and the walls before realizing it was too big and they needed to take it apart.List goes on. After the move, as I began to set up my brand new new build house, I noticed they damaged virtually every single piece of my furniture and damaged my new walls and banisters. I called D2D to report the damage and sent photo and video evidence. Initially the D2D guy said he was sorry it happened and he would have a furniture repairman contact me to 'touch up' the furniture. I explained how the cracked furniture, scraped metals and gouged velvet could not be repaired with touch up paint. I was never contacted anyway. As I noticed more unrepairable damage and sent evidence, D2D made me out to be a liar & made poor excuses deflecting blame, which weren't true. D2D then tried to defer me to the subcontracted guys, but I hired D2D, not them.D2D refused to answer my phone calls. At this point, D2D has stopped responding to any of my texts or calls. My furniture is destroyed & D2D refuses to take responsibility and is ignoring me.
Product_Or_Service: Moving Service

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) Compensation for the damages to my furniture: TV credenza (cracked, scraped, paint damaged), coffee table (scraped, paint damaged), metal entryway table (scratched, scratched metal), velvet queen bedframe and headboard (gouged out velvet, scraped, dirtied, scratched metal decorative studs), white queen bedframe and headboard (scraped, paid damaged). Damaged furniture is worth over $4k.

I am very sorry that this has happened. I made a mistake by letting another company complete a move for us and an even bigger mistake by not informing you of this prior. I will never make that mistake again .
As for the issue of the damage to your furniture, I offered immediately upon you notifying me the day after your move that I would have a Professional Furniture Repair Shop call you to set up a day to come out to your home and repair everything. You have refused this as a viable option to resolve this . This is their profession and they can and will fix all the damaged items as good as new. If you were to get a scratch or dent on your car you would take it to a Professional Auto Body Repair shop and they would fix it the same way, you wouldn't just request a new car .
I didn't receive any compensation for your move at all , but I was and still willing to make this right . My offer to have it fixed still stands if you give it a chance. I truly am sorry this has happened and want to make it right.
Thank you
Eric

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Your actions did not portray that you were sorry and wanted to make this right. If you really wanted to make this right, you wouldn't have ignored my phone calls, texts and voicemails and completely cut off communication with me nor would you have tried to place the blame on to me. You also attempted to deflect the liability by inferring I should contact the subcontracted workers with my issues instead.

I never refused to have the furniture repair person come out. You stated you would have them contact me and you never did.

Although I do have concerns about the credibility of your furniture repair person based on the poor work performed by those you deemed fit to send and handle my move, I will allow your repair person to inspect my furniture. Please have them contact me. However, I still reserve my right without prejudice to continue pursuing resolution to this matter if the furniture cannot be repaired to pre-damaged condition, the repairs are unsatisfactory, if I am not comfortable with the professionalism of the repair person or for any other reason.
