My name is Joseph H*** and I've been the driver for Dahlenburg Moving Cofor the past years. In my time here with Dahlenburg Moving Co., I have never tried to hide any damage from a customer. Anytime we have any damage the first thing I do is notify the customer and do
whatever it takes to resolve the issue. Which generally would be in the form of a refund, sending a professional to repair the damaged item. I apologize for this misunderstanding and am not calling the customer a liar, but we did not damage any of their property. I carried every large piece of furniture out of the home with another man. Once I loaded the furniture it was padded, rubber banded, and secured to the wall. Once we arrived at the storage unit the customer had already had some of his property in the storage bin. Therefore there was not enough room for the rest of his property, so he had to get a second storage unit, which made it where there was plenty of room so we didn't have to stack it high and tight.. Once we began unloading I carried each piece of furniture off of the truck with another man into the storage unit. And I can guarantee you there was no damage on our end, which leaves me not responsible for this. If my men had damaged anything we would take full responsibility for it because we have int he past and have no problem admitting when we mess up because accidents do happen. We just didn't have anything to do with this.. Therefore there will be no refund in the amount of $900.00. Dear Ms*** I am very sorry to hear about your billing complaint Under payment term section (2) of your Service Agreement once a final record is billed after cancellation if there are invoices outstanding it will either come out of the customer deposit or credit card on file
Your account did not hold an initial deposit thus the credit card was charged accordingly If you believe that this was charged incorrectly please give me a call I will be happy to assist you any way I can. Warm Regards *** ***

I am rejecting this response because:GIHC entered into a verbal agreement/contract with us on 7-31-to accept payments from us Dear Ms***,On July 10th, we ceased service with GIHC in writingAt that time and in subsequent email, you indicated that we needed to make arrangements for payments of the outstanding balanceOn July 31st we entered into a verbal contract and set up payments; on August 4, and payments in September to be on mutually agreeable datesGIHC accepted payments of 200.00, paid as agreed.On August 3rd, GIHC illegally accessed and debited without authorization, the account of a former disabled elderly veteran, causing great financial harm and hardship.The fact that GIHC accepted these payments is proof of their acceptance of the payment arrangements.Regards,*** ***

In reference to complaint ID [redacted], I received the request for the contract, invoice/receipt and any other paperwork for the transaction.  It was a cash transaction (no electronic receipt or signature) and no other paperwork/invoice/receipt was either provided or signed.  So, this claim is entirely false.  Please ask them for the paperwork - it doesn't exist - especially since they claim it releases them from the damage they did.I forwarded the before and after pictures to Dahlenburg and have attached them for your review as well.  The "before" picture was taken in December by photographer, [redacted].  I can provide her contact info if needed. The "after" pictures were taken in our storage unit in January after the piece was moved by Dahlenburg movers. The pictures are so obvious!  It was in perfect condition - Dahlenburg then moved it to where it is now - and now there's a chunk out of the top with scrapes. I sincerely can't believe they're denying the damage.  It's an extremely heavy, large, expensive piece of furniture.  We discovered the damage when I was looking for pictures to put in my Mom's memorial video.  She passed 12/31/17.  As my husband moved the chairs they placed on top of the damage to get to a bin of pictures, he saw the damage. I contacted Dahlenburg and at first they said they were going to take care of it and meet me at the unit to resolve the issue.  It then progressed to unreturned phone calls and "we're looking for the receipt" to Sarah stating, "I spoke to our attorney and he says we're not liable."I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  I am requesting a full refund of the money paid to employ them to move our furniture.  They did not perform the service they promised - to move our belongings to our storage unit without damaging anything.

I'm sorry, but there isn't any documentation other than the pictures.  We paid cash, so there's no credit card receipt as they claim to release them from being liable for damaging our desk.  We also didn't get an invoice or a formal receipt from the company.

There has been some confusion here we never told the lady Sarah spoke to an attorney. She (customer) had stated "She was calling an attorney and they would handle it." Sarah told the lady that she spoke to the members of the company and that they were not liable.  And that on our receipts it releases us of all damage after a job is complete, which they should be aware of because we have moved them once before and the men on the job and Brian and his wife had all hung out and had drinks together. When we spoke with the customer she stated she had professional pictures taken of all of there furniture and the day they realized there was damage was the day they went in to find the pictures and that's when it was discovered. Joseph has been apart of this business his whole life and whenever there has been damages he has always notified the customer and fixed the incident regardless if that was replacing the property, giving the amount of the damage, or having it repaired to the customers' satisfaction. But when the customer called she accused the men of purposely doing this and if that was the case the desk would not have been facing where damage was done and that is something none of our menn would ever have done. The first thing she said was she wanted a thousand dollars for the table and now the only way they are wanting to resolve the issue is by receiving the money, which costed them to move, which is about a thousand dollars. We did not damage these customers' property so we are not responsible for the damage that was already there when we moved them. But thank you so much for trying to resolve this issue we really appreciate all of your help.
