Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:I feel that Dr *** office is *** the fact that I could not afford orthodontics care in the states so I went to my place of birth with a highly recommended licensed orthodontist because it is more affordable in my country to get the work done and could not afford it hereI never said Dr *** was going to treat my kids orthodontics care, his employee (***) is the one whom after removing my daughters bracket and cutting her wire came out to the waiting room to offer fraud as a way to cover up her mistake rather than to come get me to to get permission to treat my daughters orthodontics needs as they stateWhen my daughter walked in nothing was poking her cheek because the wire was in place and the bracket was in place toonow Dr *** *** is covering for his employee stating that I'm confused!?! He referred me to an orthodontist because I came to him to get the bracket bonded back and he said after looking at my daughters teeth that she'd need a specialist and he did not do that kind of work that is why he gave me a referralI will add to this that this morning when I spoke to him to let him know about what his employee did he thanked me for letting him know, mind you his employee *** clearly told me when she offered to charge my insurance falsely so that it can pay for the orthodontics care that she had done this for another gentlemen for his boys, I told this to the Drand he was greatly appreciated but after he spoke to the employee I got a call back and he stayed again that they were only trying to help me from the kindness of their heartI'm not trying to get her orthodontic care paid for or done here, I'm very happy with the progress my daughters teeth have made in only months but this office is refusing responsibility for what they did and I don't feel it's fair that I have to pay the consequences for their unprofessionalismI have gone ahead and also reported this business to Delta Dental Fraud Dept because this is not fairI wasn't given an options or apologies for any of this what so ever and don't like how this is being handled.Sincerely,*** ***

As I stated in my prior response, as a health care provider I am bound by the federal healthcare privacy act (HIPAA) and I am prevented from commenting on any details of an patient's treatment in our officeTo do so would put me in violation of this federal law and there would be grave consequencesI would think the Revdex.com would understand this and quit asking me for more details that I am prohibited from providingI am prevented from responding to the preposterous comments that Mrs*** is making and as I have said previously the clinical records of her children, which are a legal record, were written by two separate em employees in my office who saw Mrs***' childrenThe written clinical records of these two employees will bear out the truth of what happenedThe idea that there is some kind of *** or conspiracy or cover up against her because she went to Mexico for her kids' orthodontic treatment is absurd and illogicalShe chose to do seek this avenue of treatment for her children on her own volition and when problems arose with the orthodontic treatment she somehow wanted to put blame on us or involve us with something we have nothing to do withI would suggest if Ms*** feels she has been wronged she should should seek an attorney and file a malpractice suit against my officeIn doing this we will then be able to discuss the details of her children's treatment without violating any HIPAA lawsThe reality is there is no merit to her case and no attorney would consider taking her caseI suggest that somebody in your office familiarize themselves with the HIPAA regulations so they are not requesting information from healthcare providers that they are not allowed to divulgeWe operate under a different set of rules than the typical types businesses you work with

Because I have to abide by federal HIPAA privacy laws I am unable, under federal law, to respond to the specifics of this person's caseI can tell you that the mother of the patient is clearly confused about a number of the facts, and in fact some of the statements are not
true at allI never offered to treat her daughters' orthodontic problems and in fact I told the mother that it was a mistake from the start for her to have taken her kids to Mexico for treatmentI told her she needed to see an orthodontist specialist locally for treatment and I in fact referred her to oneBoth kids did see the orthodontist for a consultation and their records will indicate suchIf we were going to treat her kids' orthodontic problems why would I refer them to an orthodontist? It makes no senseAs for the rest of the complaint, our clinical records that were written at the time we saw the patients clearly tell a story that is quite the opposite of what Mrs*** is claimingWe view this as attempt on to get us to pay for orthodontic treatment that the family is having trouble completing
