I placed an order for an Ice Cream Cake. I first called on the phone and spoke with Owner to place an order. I usually go inside and place order as I also did with new order. I wanted to find out what is the cut off to make sure I had my order in. She had told me if I needed the cake for Saturday to make sure I’m there by Thursday at closing. So she went ahead and took my info what I wanted but I would go inside business and let them know how I wanted decorated and I would pay then. Thursday morning before the business even opened *** the owners son. He’s a manager there. He took my order. What I asked for was not fancy or extreme. There was a cake that was in the freezer that had daisy flowers on it. I told him I wanted those flowers on the cake all over. And a image of my daughter in center. That was it. *** took a picture of the cake in freezer so the cake decorator would know what I wanted. He wrote down on the order form what color flowers. I wanted just pink and white. I asked them to write Happy 15th Birthday ***. That’s it. *** rang me up for the ice cream cake $64.15 total.
Saturday morning I went to pick up ice cream cake and let me say I was shocked. The cake was NOTHING as I asked for. There was some flowers that were yellow and purple! And lots of green floral vines everywhere. They did not write Happy Birthday at all in the cake for my daughter. *** was Not present. Workers said he was out of town. I asked the cake decorator why were my flowers that color. She said because that is the color she does her flowers. I asked why it didn’t say Happy Birthday on the cake and she said because it didn’t say so. I let her know the cake was not what I asked for. She said she was nervous and that she was sorry. The whole cake was not what I asked for. She was trying to find some birthday sticks but only had some Christmas colors. I was upset. Asked her why she didn’t go by the instructions that *** wrote on the order form. She said there wasn’t any. I let her know there was. She went and got the original order form and I pointed to the form. She was stunned and said “Oh I didn’t see it”! So the whole time the instructions were on the back side of my order form and she never looked. So she made the cake to her liking. Colors that my daughter doesn’t like. I left the store very upset and hopeless. I got home and emailed ***. I emailed him Saturday and I received a email this morning Monday Feb 3,2020. And in the email they are telling me I should of went in in person so they could understand what I wanted. In other words they are lying and saying I didn’t go in. Or they forgot. But I did go in. I have my receipt showing I went in and placed the order. They won’t respond to any of my emails and when I called the business many times no answer. I paid a lot of money to not what I asked for.
I have photos of the cake and also a photo of the actual order form that was written by *** the manager. That is the order form that the decorator said she didn’t see.

Mrs. has purchased a dozen or so cakes from the Riverside Dairy Queen over the last few years. Of those cakes, I believes she has complained of at least half of them. The core issue is that Mrs *** does not understand the level of skill required to make a cake and that she expects the cakes to be extremely detailed. I have explained to her that we are a Dairy Queen and not a professional bakery. Our store does not have the skill, colors, materials, and tools to do everything she asks. I personally let her know this prior to taking the order. We asked her to come in and directly speak to a cake decorator so there would be no confusion for the order. She refused and instead, I tried to take her order to minimize confusion. I relayed the information to the decorator but we were still unable to create exactly what she wanted. My decorator offered to change or add to the cake to make it more in-line with Mrs. tastes upon pickup. Mrs. refused and left with the cake. I have already spoken with Mrs. regarding this issue and have suggested that she find another Dairy Queen to create her custom cakes, as we will not be available to accommodate her any longer.

I am rejecting this response because:
*** I have emailed and have attached all pictures and email exchange between myself and Dairy Queen. In the photos you can see the cake that was made rather than what *** the Manager wrote down. He keeps saying I refused to go inside. That is a total lie. I did go inside and he took the order. You can see I did not ask for some outrageous design. In fact the design that I chose was a sample that was already in freezer on a previous cake. Dairy Queen never asked me not to go back to there store again. I would like a refund on the cake that I paid for and was not given.

We asked Mrs. to speak directly with a cake decorator, in store. She did not. Taking into consideration that we are a Dairy Queen and not a professional cake store, our decorator completed the instructions to the best of her ability and Mrs. still received an outstanding cake that we followed as closely as we could. I have already told this to Mrs. in our personal email thread. No refund will be given and we suggest Mrs. find another store for her cake orders, as we are unable to complete them to her satisfaction. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because:I have enclosed personal emails and I also emailed Revdex.com the emails because there is to many to attach. It would only let me do some. In *** response he is still be untruthful. In emails you can see he NEVER told me I wasn’t not getting a refund nor did he ever say for me not to come back. You can see in emails that’s a lie. You can see pic of cake does not match the simple DIRECTIONS that *** wrote down for them to make. And he keeps saying he told me to talk to cake decorator. I have proof that I did go inside. A few days prior to me going inside *** called me and was trying to take my order over the phone since I don’t live so close. It was MYSELF that told her I would just go in on Thursday and place order in person. In which she said ok. *** is the owner of this Dairy Queen and he took my order and as I was present was texting the cake decorator. He asked her if she could make a flower. If he saids I should have talked to her the decorator why didn’t he ask to wait and speak to her since her shift was starting soon! It’s because it was a simple order that I got the idea from a cake that they had already made and was in the freezer for purchase. He is trying to cover himself because there cake decorator did NOT see ***’s notes attached to the backside. So how is that my fault that *** didn’t tell the worker to flip the order over. I paid $64.10 for a cake that I did not receive. *** keeps saying the cake I received was beautiful. He can say that all he wants but he didn’t pay for the cake. The cake didn’t even say Happy 15th Birthday on it for my daughter. I expressed this was a special birthday for her. The colors I requested were simple! Pink and white! They make me a cake with yellow and purple! Colors my daughter doesn’t like. It is there fault! I want a refund and I will no longer be going to that location again! My daughters School Ramona High School does a lot of charity work with this location, this is bad business! *** quit with the lies, you made a mistake by not telling your decorator that you had wrote the instructions on the backside. This is your fault and hers
