The Sequoia was purchased 12/16/16. The customer also purchased a month/100,mile warranty. Our company provided a day /1,mile warranty at the time of purchase. The customer brought the vehicle in with concerns about the transmission. The vehicle was taken
for a test drive and at that time was running well without slips, shutters or jerks. The transmission fluid was normal. When a code is cleared, whether for tire pressure, oil level or transmission, the code will reappear when the vehicle is restarted if the problem is still present. Upon starting the vehicle after the test drive no codes were showing. The customer indicated the vehicle drove properly at that time and did not call with further complaintsFive months later the customer called stating there was a problem with the transmission and wanted additional financial help with the transmission. She indicated the cost to install a brand new transmission at the Toyota dealership would be $6000. The warranty she purchased would cover $for a transmission. It was suggested that she might consider a slightly used transmission since the vehicle had 112,miles on it at the time of purchase. Since cost was a factor, she was told a transmission shop would cost considerably less than a Toyota dealership. In our experience they have done very good work She became upset at these recommendations and hung up saying “Don’t tell me how to fix my car.” We are concerned for all our customers and try to work with them

I am rejecting this response because:
Revdex.com NOTE: Consumer sent response as an attached JPG -- appears to be a photo of a typed response. JPG is attached; text of response reads as follows: "Re: Dakota Motor Company ComplaintI wish to state categorically that I reject the vague explanation offered by Dakota Motor Company. The transmission problem was discovered on January 26, 2017, well within the dealership warranty period of 45 days. They disputed the diagnosis by Bobby's and Steve. What they did was just clear the transmission codes that were generating check engine error message and claimed that the vehicle did not have a transmission problem. I had requested my wife to call them about the reoccurrence of the problem. When she called and spoke to Ryan, he was very rude and unprofessional. He claimed that we were interested in his money and that we shouldn't go to a dealership for car repairs. This upset my wife and that's why she hung up the phone. And for Ryan's information, we are not interested in his had earned dollars. We are both professional people with well-paying jobs and have no interest in anyone's funds. We are only interested in fairness. If Dakota Motor had fixed the car on January 26, 2017, that problem would have been resolved. If they are not willing to work with me on resolving this matter, then I will have no option other than seeking legal redress. I feel that Dakota Motor is out to fleece innocent customers and perhaps the legal system will put this kind of business malpractices to an end.Thank you[redacted]."
