Daleville Family Counseling, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: My company recommended [redacted] at Daleville Family Counseling because she took our insurance. I had a session with her and didn't feel it was a good match. Apparently, there was a second appointment set up, that I missed and was a no-show on Feb. 22, 2013. When I received a bill, I spoke with her regarding the fact I never received a reminder call or reminder text which her contract stated you receive. We texted a little and she was nice and agreed to excuse the bill. I received a bill in a couple months and texted her again. She said she was sorry, she had forgotten, and would excuse the bill. I have all of these conversations saved since they were done via text message. 9/10/13 I received a bill for the $45 stating if its not paid, it will be sent to collections. I am disappointed because I would have paid it to begin with had I not been told she would excuse it this time. I feel I was mislead and not treated properly by what should have been a respectable business.Thank you for any help you can offer. [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like to have the bill excused and not sent to collections.

Response:

Daleville Family Counseling, Inc.I met with this client on January 28,2013 for the first time for outpatient mental health counseling. We made a second appointment in the office before she left that day for February 22,2013. I texted the client the day prior to her appointment, as a reminder of our meeting. She did not call to cancel theappointment or respond back by text. The informed consent for counseling states "lf you do not cancel your appointment 24 hours prior, or do not call at all to cancel, you will be charged the regular rate of$90.00 for the session. " This client received a bill for $45.00 which is half of the rate indicated in theinformed consent. Although I could b¡ll $90 for the "no show", I opted to bill $45 as a courtesy.I received texts from the client indicating she was unaware of the appointment and didn't believe sheshould have to pay the fee for "no show". I agreed to remove the charge because I could not be sureshe had actually received the text I sent the day prior. I also want to maintain a reputation in thecommunity of being excellent to work with, approachable and more than fair in my business practices. Icontacted my billing agency and requested the fee be removed. This client was billed a second time for the "no show" appointment. I apologized to the client for theinconvenience and reiterated they are not responsible for the charge. I contacted my billing agencyagain and advised them that this client had been billa second time forthe "no show" and to remove thecharge. The clients insurance denied the insurance claim for the first appointment due to an issue with the claimneeding to be filed on a particular form. This has been corrected with the insurance company and theclient is not responsible for that bill. However, since the claim denied, the billing agency sent the clienta bill for $45 for the first appointment. The client mistakenly believed they were again being billed forthe "no show" fee and sought resolution via the Revdex.com.My billing agency contacted the client to clarify that this $45 bill was for the first session and not for the"no show". The client is not being billed for any monies related for the first session or the "no show",and appeared satisfied with the resolution.
