payments. Apparently the client forgot that she requested the estimates be prepared based on 90% of the 2014 tax and instead thought her payments were to cover 100% of the tax. Therefore, she was unprepared to have a balance due with her 2014 tax return as was originally projected. This only created a timing difference of when the tax was paid by the client. All IRS and NYS requirements for quarterly estimated tax payments were met. No penalties or interest payments were incurred. However, our firm’s goal has always been to have our client’s fully satisfied with the services we provide. For that reason, I agree to not bill the client for the preparation of her 2014 tax return. Had the client contacted me directly, I would have been more than happy to work this out directly with her.
