Dalton Auto Body Reviews (1)

Poor quality the first time repairs were made; scratches left untouched, bubbles and voids in the paint. Second attempt had the same result. My truck was brought to this shop recommended by my insurance company. Dalton Auto Body did the appraisal them self, took pictures and said they could take care of me in just four days.. Monday when I dropped the truck off, they said they would call me when the repairs were finished. I asked why not Thursday, seeing that was 4 days. They said, "its body work you never know what could happen and we can't work on this day or knight to finish it"Two and a half days later my truck was complete. In a rush to receive my truck I hopped on my bike, drove to the shop, made a quick walk around the truck, wrote them a $500 personal check and was headed back to work. Upon closer inspection of their work once I arrived at my work place, I noticed bubbles/ voids in the paint, and they had left two huge scratches/scrapes related to the accident that were untouched. I immediately called them and made them aware that I was unhappy with the work they had done and that I would need to bring the truck back for repairs. I needed my truck for work on the weekend so I wouldn't be able to leave the truck again till Monday, but I did bring the truck to the shop Friday so they could see the damage left behind and speak them. They told me sorry for the issues it was their mistake and they will be happy to fix the issues. I made them aware that I would be making a stop payment to the personal check I gave them the day before, and I will pay them once the repairs were fixed. I rescheduled for Tuesday, dropped the truck off Monday evening after hours, and received a call Wednesday saying my truck was again finished, however this time I would only be able to take my truck out of the locked area if I made a payment using cash or bank certified check because I messed up their account by making the stop payment and they had to pay $35 for a fee. I explained to them I was sorry for making the stop payment and for the account issues but I was only protecting my $500 and wanted to be sure the work would be fixed seeing we have never done business together, I would have done the same with any other repair shop. Thursday came and I went to pick up the truck, when I arrived it was locked up and they asked for the $500 and I asked them to see the work first, upon my inspection I found they did not repair the paint, still bubbles and still scratches, seems that they only tried to buff out the flaws. I entered the office and told them I still see issues with the paint and scratches and asked if I would still have to pay to get my truck out and they said yes. Not wanting to leave the truck so they could try for a third time, I decided to give them the cash. I feel I have been pushed through their system and taken advantage of, my experience with them was terrible, not only did the quality of work not meet my expectations but their attitude and customer service was horrible.Desired SettlementI would like to receive a refund for the cost of my deductible of $500.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] - [redacted] Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXXContact Email: [redacted]@DALTONAUTOBODY.COM THIS VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ACCORDING TO THE ESTIMATE. WHEN MR [redacted] BROUGHT THE VEHICLE BACK WE SAW 2 SMALL MARKS IN THE PAINT WHERE WE PAINTED . WE PAINTED THE VEHICLE THE SECOND TIME. I REINSPECTED THE REPAIRS MYSELF.WHEN HE PICKED IT UP MY OFFICE MANAGER ASKED HIM IF HE WAS HAPPY. HE SAID NO AND DID NOT WANT ANYONE TO CHECK IT AND SHOW US THE PROBLEM.IF HE WANTS TO COME AND SHOW ME THE PROBLEM I'LL CHECK IT AGAIN. I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE HE'S SEEING BUBBLES. MAYBE HE DOESN'T REALIZE WE ONLY PAINT WHERE THE DAMAGE WAS (IN THE REAR CORNER OF THE PANEL). THEN CLEAR OVER THE REST OF THE PANEL. AS FAR AS THE SCRATCH ON THE FLARE IT IS IN FRONT OF THE DAMAGED AREA AND NOT COVERED BY THE INSURANCE. I TOLD MR [redacted] HE COULD ALSO CALL THE INSURANCE CO. I DON'T THINK HE DID. WE'VE BEEN IN BUISNESS SINCE 1950 AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM. IF MR [redacted] WANTS TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO ME I WILL TRY TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER. SINCERELY [redacted]
