Review: I hired [redacted] to install a pool liner in my above ground pool. The liner leaked almost immediately. [redacted], in his defense, fought with the manufacturer to obtain a second liner, however getting that replacement liner installed was another issue. [redacted] was a little unprofessional and would say "He was busy or the excuse he had no cell phone or email. One instance was when I rescheduled an entire Saturday to stay home and [redacted] never showed up, never called. When I finally did get through to him he said he had no cell phone or any way to contact me. He stated he was on another job, I'm sure there would be way to call a customer to say he couldn't make an appointment. Apparently he had already had my money for the job so suddenly I was no longer important. I had a concern with the pool wall at the bottom that I wanted him to repair (push out)or provide cost for any extra work. [redacted] installed the liner both times without addressing the wall issue and I cannot tell for sure if he leveled out, removed any rocks or added new sand at the bottom. [redacted] installed the new liner, packed up and left before I was able to come home to inspect the job. This was about mid May. The pool, suddenly began leaking heavily a couple of days ago to the point of being empty. I contacted [redacted] two or three times by phone, not to complain, but to have him come take a look and see what could be done and he never returned my calls. I had done some research of my own after this recent issue and found out that wall foam should have been installed between the aluminum pool wall and the liner. While he seemed like a nice man personally, his business practices left a lot to be desired. The chances of receiving two defective liners in such a short period of time is pretty much impossible. I tend to think of incorrect installation as the problem and there should be some sort of guarantee for work provided and not just a manufacturers limited warranty.Desired Settlement: Replacement of liner correctly and any other items to be addressed that were neglected in the initial installation or refund the entire cost or a fraction of the cost of the liner. The first part was paid in check, the second in cash but I have a receipt

Response:

At this time, I have been contacted directly by D'Amico Pools regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The [redacted]) called me two or three times asking what was wrong with the pool. I am sure he called me after being contacted by the Revdex.com. I told him the installation was done incorrectly, I wasn't satisfied and that I had a couple of swimming pool contractors come, take a look and provide any estimates. He then became heated when I told him that just by looking at it the pool was not done correctly. I eventually hired a contractor who replaced the liner and made repairs, for example [redacted] installed the skimmer gasket incorrectly, there should have been foam installed and new pool base. I told [redacted] I didn't want him to come over and look and see what he could do. I said I have no problem paying him for his time as he he worked but suggested we split the cost of the liner where I would receive about $125. This was met with no answer or response. A last resort would be to sue him in small claims court.
