Damm Masonry

I am writing this review to hopefully save others from the nightmare we have been living through since hiring Tom Damm. We hired Tom on 4/15/2022 for masonry work on the front of our house. He required $3000 to start the work. After a couple days of showing up sporadically, he said everything behind the brick was damaged. He said wood was rotted, had mold, termites & second floor would collapse. He requested $7000 more to continue and to buy lumber, drywall & supplies. After that he disappeared. He wouldn’t answer his phone or return calls. He eventually showed back up to measure for a brace “to hold up” second floor and requested another check. Red flag! He’d done almost nothing and already had $10,000 from us. We researched and found many bad reviews calling him a scammer. We called a carpenter to take another look at what was going on with our home. He let us know there was no damage. No water damage, no mold, no termites and the second floor was solid. We still tried to work with Tom since he had our $10,000, but after more delays/excuses, we decided to move on. We requested an invoice for work completed and a refund check from the $10,000 we paid him. To date, he hasn't provided either an invoice or a refund check. He has said multiple times that he would drop off a refund check but hasn’t. This man is a liar and a crook.

Work was completed husband called stated thank you for work done everything was fine I did everything legally I could do for them They bought the house water was getting in all over; yet I performed masonry work that needed to be done ; I told them on contract and in person also by phone that leakage is coming from other source , they never called me times it was his mother inlaw who called he stated The contract was signed by them I took before and after pictures I have voice messages from them and I already wrote the Revdex.com once but I'm not sure it got thru ..so this is a follow up letter After the masonry work was completed I went out two or three times and told them again the contract stated the source was coming from other sourceYet, they lie and send you this scam Here at Damm Masonry we pride ourselves on our work and this if it goes to court will reflect exactly what I stated I will gladly send Revdex.com a copy of the contract if you contact me however , lying about us will not be tolerated and will counter sue for accusations when they knew I did everything I could for a very cheap price.It is my opinion, they bought a house that was too much for them Feel free to contact me at 1- [redacted] if you would like a copy of the contractSincerely [redacted] Damm

I am rejecting this response because: The amount he charged was $not $or $He was informed about weeks after he said he had finish that he had removed some of the material form the bottom of the chimney and did not fill
the spaces inI had no complaint about the color of the outsideI just wanted him to fill in the places where he had removed the old material.

I am rejecting this response because:It is the most ridiculous & unprofessional response I have ever read.  Stick to the facts.  You identified areas of the brick where you claimed the water was coming in from, and you agreed to repair the leak.  It is not repaired.  You say your work is guaranteed for 10 years.  So either fix it, or refund the money.  Either way, you will be hearing from my lawyer because I have spoken to the Bolingbrook Building Department, and I have learned that you are not even licensed to work in Bolingbrook.

had no complaint about the color of the outside. I just wanted him to fill in the places where he had removed the old material.
