Review: I signed a contract with [redacted] on 01/**/13, for partial remodel of my kitchen (countertop, backsplash and ceiling) as well as carpentry work, which involved replacing seven doors, installing crown moulding, installing lights under my kitchen cabinets and painting my entire five room apartment. The agreed price for the remodel was $9,243.00. This price included$1,800 for a formica kitchen countertop. The contractor indicated in the contract that the job would require eight working days. I gave [redacted] a down payment of $3,235.00 on 02[redacted]/13 and he began to work the following week. I then decided that I wanted a stone countertop rather than formica. [redacted] arranged for his stone subcontractor, a man named [redacted] of Precious Marble and Granite to take me looking for countertop material. I opted for a ceasarstone countertop and [redacted] informed me that the cost for the countertop would be $4728.00 above our agreed price. I wrote him a check on 03/**/13 for that amount to cover the material. From the onset of this project he was sending workers to my house for two or three hours a day a couple of days a week. Often the didn't come till 6:00pm and some weeks they didn't come at all. I pleaded with him to finish the job. Finally on 04/**/13 they finished the carpentry and I paid him the second installment of $3004.00. From the time of the second payment until 5/**/13 they painted the apartment. All the while I kept asking"Where is the countertop?" The stone contractor had taken my new kitchen sink back in March in order to cut the hole out for it in the material. To make a long story short, and you probably know where this is going...... There is no countertop. I have tons of text messages form [redacted] where he tells me lie after lie. The stone guy won't return my call, the ceasarstone whearhouse in brooklyn that we went to has no record of any order(it is the only distributer in the area). I realize now it is never coming.Desired Settlement: I would like a the total cost of the countertop material refunded $6528.00 plus the cost of my kitchen sink $450.00. I will obtain an estimate to complete the job, which includes installation of the refrigerator and stove that I purchased, as well as installation of the tile backsplash. There is so much detail that was left out of this incident due to lack of space. I could write pages with just the excuses he has given me.
