Failed to complete job as per contract. Failure to meet performance standards. Failure to communicate in a professional manner.Scheduled to begin work no later than May 6th and substantially completed by May 20th dependent on weather. Last day workers were here was June 16th. [redacted] continued to say he would come back and complete job up until July 8th. As of today [redacted] will not call us back nor finished the job. His extreme failure to communicate was very frustrating.Resistant to inquiries with regard to job status.Left complete managing of the job site to his foreman and was rarely here to confirm that work was being done properly.Disregarded the fact that children reside in the house with regard to hazardous/dangerous items left on the ground around house.Miscellaneous trash left behind for us to remove.Residue left behind on new window screens from power washing. Lead paint chips on perimeter of house grounds due to insufficient scraping and ground protection via power washing.Unsatisfactory scraping of existing paint chips on house prior to painting.Failure to protect areas of house not being painted from paint drips & splatters.Overspray of paint on new window frames and screens. Broken screensTwo coats of paint not applied as specified in signed contract.Towards completion workers were rushing to "just get the job done" with disregard to proper pre-painting preparation. ie, failure to sand, scrape, clean and protect the areas being painted.Removed items from the house not belonging to themCarpentry work was not satisfactory.Desired SettlementComplete the job to our satisfaction. Replace broken screen and clean paint from window frames.Finish carpentry work. OR pay to have another pre-approved painter complete his job.

Breach of contract and reneging on promise to issue a refundA contract was signed between myself and [redacted] on August 6, 2012. We specified in the contract that [redacted] should use Benjamin Moore paint since I believe that Benjamin Moore is the best paint available. [redacted] used Sherwin Williams paint instead. As a result, we were quite unhappy. When I discovered that the wrong paint had been used, I wrote [redacted] about it in a letter dated December 9, 2012.After a long discussion with [redacted], it was decided that he would issue a $500 refund as compensation for his error. (The total cost of the painting job was $5,698.20)[redacted] sent me a promissory letter dated December 17, 2012 in which he promised to issue the $500 refund no later than May 1st 2013.That appeared to settle the issue. However, May 1st has come and gone and [redacted] has not issued that promised refund. That is the reason for my filing a complaint against [redacted] Painting at this time.Desired SettlementThe promised $500 refund.

Failure to complete contract.Hired the [redacted] Gough Painting to paint the inside and outside of our house. We wrote a check for 1/3 of the contract to get him started which amounted to $3200.00 He was supposed to be don in one week. This was on March 5th. He has not been back since! will not answer his phone and will not return our messages. We recently got a call from someone that said they would do the job for him if we paid them as well which we declined since the contract was with [redacted]. To this day we have not heard from him and have no other option than to take him to court. [redacted] SS#XXX-XX-XXXX HIC#XXXXXX Desired SettlementWe want our money back in full. no other settlement would be acceptable at this point.

The vendor damaged our home. They left dangerous material in our children's play house, and trash and cigarette butts on our property. We contracted the vendor to power wash our house. After the power washing was complete, the vendor left trash on our property, including cigarette butts and containers of cleanser. They also left tools, personal items and packages of cigarettes inside our toddler's play house. Finally, they damaged the siding to our home, peeling it back from the corners of the front windows. I immediately called to report the damage and was assured by the owner that he would be back that day or the following to repair the damage. He did not show up up. I emailed him photographs of the damage and asked him to appear. He promised to come and rectify the damage on four different occasions. Finally he came by while we were out of town, over two weeks after the damage occurred. He attempted repairs and removed the offensive material from my child's playhouse. However, during this time period, there was heavy rain, and I am concerned that the moisture damage to the exposed wood may have been significant. Furthermore, these 'repairs' were inadequate, as the siding is still not flush as it was before the power washing began. I contacted the vendor via phone and email and was assured that he would "personally" come up to the house and rectify matters. Despite multiple emails and phone calls he has yet to materialize, now over a full month after the original damage occurred. While we were initially pleased with the actual power washing, our inspections of the property since our month-long and futile attempt to get the vendor to repair the damage he caused have revealed that even this was sub-standard. Additional bleach damage to our window screens is evident. The vendor required that I pay by check before the service was completed, which I did, as I trusted that the vendor would complete the work in a satisfactory fashion and would not damage my home. Had the vendor billed me for payment after the fact, I would have refused to pay until the damage was repaired.Desired SettlementI require a full refund of the amount I paid Dan Gough painting for powerwashing services in July 2013.

Dan Gough Painting did not honor the warranty on work performed. The contractor painted our house in the late summer of 2012, offering a two year warranty. We asked him to abide by the contract in March 2013 after noticing paint peeling and chipping on several surfaces. Despite repeated promises to repaint, as of September 2013, the contractor has still not performed the work.Desired SettlementTo abide by the terms of the contract and emails in which the contractor promised certain work to be completed.
