I am answering about the complaint from [redacted] When the customer brought his vehicle to us it was overheatingWe performed cylinder head test and informed him the head gasket had failedAlso I told him that the cylinder head or engine block could be warpedHis response was that he had done this job himself personally once before and that the engine block was okHe was very confident about itSo we sent the cylinder head to machine shop to get repaired and installed it with new head gasketIt failed and informed him the engine block must be badSo instead of fixing the block customer wanted us to try a new head gasket for such reasonsIt worked for a few months but failedNow he wants his money back toward repairsI normally dont do that kind of work but this customer is a relative of a friendAlso I gave him the job at wholesale twiceHis arguement is that we shouldve had the block checked the first timeI wouldve done that but he didnt want the extra expense

This complaint is between Dan Neal’s Auto Repair and I and no one elseDan Neal was recommended as a quality shopNo this is not about failing and wanting money backThis is about being charged twice for the same repair in Paying $for a SL4cyl head gasket replacement is no dealThe original head gasket repair was $4/11/2016, then additional charge of $5/31/for the same repair for the third time that I returned to his shop in two months for the same failureIt wasn’t about getting a deal but getting the job done rightThe motor was rebuilt over 100,miles ago at $dollars September with no issuesNow I ask you as a professional and no matter what a customer says, when you have the cylinder head off you’d check the engine block to verify the issue at hand the first time aroundDan Neal had every opportunity to verify the condition of the block 4/11/when the head was removed the first timeThere was no additional expenses mentioned to check the engine block that I’m aware ofThis is the first I’ve heard of additional expense to check engine block to see if it is straightChecking engine block is part of the jobThe fair and proper thing to do is for a no-charge on 5/31/I paid him his $after extensively talking with him on the overcharge on 5/31/I think I’m being more than fair in asking to be reimbursed $ I also talked with Dan in November to see if he’d reconsider his position before contacting the Revdex.com
