Dear ***,*** *** has been my customer for approximately eight yearsI frequently do handyman projects around her home and assist her with small tasks, such as stopping by to move heavy bags of salt without requesting payment.Last fall she had major work done around her poolThe
project included the installation of pebble paving and sod being plantedThe pool is surrounded by a wood deck and a wooded terrace wallWhile working on some handyman projects *** approached me about the wood decking, she asked what she could do about itI explained that due to the age and state of the wood it would be best to have everything replacedMs*** said that she would rather not take on the expense of replacing all the wood and resurfacing the wallIexplained that another option would be Respaint for decksI have used this product in the past with great successIt was explained to Ms*** that the poor conditionof the wood was a concern but if she wanted to go ahead we could try the productWe made a verbal agreement to do the job for $676.00.I cleaned the deck with a brush and water since the manufacturer of the product specified not to pressure wash the surfaceThe product was applied and Ms*** was happy with the resultsA few months later she contacted me stating that the paint started peeling upIdid respond to the problem, but not as quick as expected, due to my health and other projectsSince the product was applied exactly as the manufacturer instructed, the only reason for the failure could be the state of the wood.Itold Ms*** that Iwould refund her, even though Iwas not at faultIpurchased money orders inthe amount of $and mailed it with priority mail as soon as possible. It saddens me that we have reached this point, as we have had a long and successful business relationship without any prior complaintsI hope that by refunding Ms*** that this matter is resolved and all parties can move forward.Attached you will find copies of the money order. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions

Review: Last fall, after having some major work done around my pool, [redacted] suggested that I have the wall and steps refinished with a product that he had used beforeHe told me it would improve the appearance and protect the woodI agreed and he did the work, which I paid for in fullIn December, I noticed that the finish was discoloring and coming off the stepsi called him and he said he would take care of it in the springIn early March the paint began peeling off in large strips and blowing all over from all of the top surfacesHe said he would come out to checkWhen he never did I took pictures and emailed them to himHe said he would contact the manufacturerI expressed concern about the toxicity, since I have dogs and these large pieces were blowing everywhereI called repeatedly for him to come outHe promised he wouldHe would text me occasionally with excuse after excuseFinally he showed up on June 5thHe said he would send someone to clean everything up and would try another product and if that didn't work he would refund my moneyHe promised by the following Friday, June 12th, I would either have my money back or the job would be done correctlyThe excuses started once again- couldn't get someone out, might rain etcThen we had another day scheduled and no one every showed upI called him again on June 17th and told him I wanted my money backHe promised to send a check the next dayToday is July 7th and I have still not received a check.Desired Settlement: I would like him to pay to have this job corrected by someone of my choice, who can do the job properlyI would like this done promptlyI have given him every opportunity to make this right to no avail
