Bait & Switch Scam Artists
Danbury Hyundai

Pulled a bait & switch scam on us. Contacted them to buy a Santa Cruz SEL AWD Crew Cab Pickup for $31,245, as listed on their website. They confirmed that they had it in stock, assured us they didn't need a deposit, they'd hold it for us. So we drove HOURS down to our credit union and we're about to leave to the dealership and suddenly NOPE, it SOLD. But they have the PREMIUM for +$10k MORE. Won't discus any deal via phone. We gotta drive another hour to the dealership to discuss. Gave up and drove hours home. Next day, I contact the dealership again - guess what? They HAVE the same make and model we wanted to buy, but now it's +$8k MORE than listed on the website. I've filed complaints with the CT State Attorney's General and Dealer Complaint Department.

Do NOT buy from these scam artists.

We can only reiterate our offer--we will be happy to recheck the [redacted] sensor--the fact that is goes on/off intermittently perhaps indicates that the sensor is faulty. This would explain why the light was cleared when the vehicle was in for service, only to have it light again the next day. Unfortunately, these are sensitive instruments for which there is no definitive test to see if there is an issue with the sensor beyond experience.
We feel the offer of a 50% reduction of the cost for the tire rotation and balance is fair as this work was requested and performed. These services are not covered by the vehicle warranty.
The secretary has already been spoken to and apologized for her behavior. We do not allow our employees to use or to be subjected to profane or abusive language.

We apologize for the delay.
The check has been cut and will be mailed today.

I Had a great experience and also a easy experience buying a car here! Dave P[redacted] sold me on the Hyundai and sent me to see Anthony P[redacted].. He was an excellent man to work with and made my buying experience fast and easy!! He also gave me the most for my trade and that was very important for me to make a purchase!!

This is the most crooked dealership I've come across in all my car buying years. Their service department will over charge you and not tell you about it until work is done thus making you pay more than you should. If I could give '0' stars I would. They are all phonies and I will never buy/lease another Hyundai. I would NOT recommend DANBURY HYUNDAI to even my worst enemy. Move along... there are a lot of better places to get your vehicle serviced or purchased from!!!

Review: When I purchased my vehicle, Danbury Hyundai told me that there was a $300 registration fee. I questioned and said that it does not cost that much to register a car. their reply was, whatever is not used will be returned to you. I received my registration and the cost was only $100. I waited for a month and finally called them to get my $200 back. Then they started giving me all these excuses. Every excuse I called them out on another one took its place why I was not going to get my money back. then they told me that the [redacted] charged them $277. I asked for paperwork proving that. they told me they would send it to me the next day. they didn't. I finally had to threaten to take them to court and all of s sudden someone made a mistake and I am able to get my money back. I am still waiting for the check.Desired Settlement: I am still waiting for my check.

Review: I purchased a 2008 [redacted] from Danbury Hyundai on June 6th it came with 60 day 3000 mile warranty plus we purchased extended warranty. When first looked at I raised question about clutch the sales manager of used cars stated if anything wrong we will take care in July my son was having trouble took several complaints before they finally took car they had it over a week said they fixed and gave us no paper work even though I requested. My son tells me about a week later it is still making noise and slipping again it took several complaints by both my son and I before he took the car and this was 1st week of August now they didn't return car until August 31 and again paper work requested and not given in 2 days my son having trouble again we go and used car manager says "I'm not putting another nickel in that car" he says he sent car to [redacted] for clutch but [redacted] has no record says that car was never here. Son and I still asking for repair and no help from them well on Sept.11th my son calls he is stuck on 84 near exit 69 car made several cracking and grinding noises and died was towed to a [redacted] dealer near [redacted] both mechanics and a warranty guy say you can see clutch has been worked on but axel not placed properly and they didn't replace transmission fluid that came out in repair. took Danbury Hyundai a week of calls to finally have car towed to them a lot of bickering and finally owner of the whole Auto park said he was having Clutch and Transmission replaced I was overly appreciative and told him. That was Sept.21 today is Oct.8th I called service dept. they won't tell me where car is but it was sent out they won't say where and I'm sorry I think I am being run around again just to shut us up and warranty or anything timed out for repair. My son is keeping good grades in college, working in a group home with handi cap, paying the car loan and insurance for a car he hasn't driven more than it's been with Danbury Hyundai?? while writing this after calling there twice was called saying car should be back Tuesday Oct.12th?? and I had insist on knowing where car is before they would tell me. Please let me know what I can do. Thank youDesired Settlement: Have the car repaired and returned to my son at no cost to us this has been a constant warranty problem not properly taken care of.
