Dancing Crab at Washington Harbor LP Reviews (1)

Review: Im writing in response to, what I feel was improper service at Tony and Joes at the Georgetown Washington Harbor. I was paying for $80 worth of appetizers for a group visiting their establishment. Before receiving any food, I was notified by someone in my party that the door staff had made a scene with a young woman in my party. As I approached to the situation to assess, I noticed that my friend was sitting on the stairs outside of the establishment crying. We had just debarked from a dinner cruise and she was feeling a bit queasy. I understood that the door staff assumed that she was too intoxicated to enter, so as someone who has worked in the alcohol hospitality industry for over 10 years and is quite aware of liabilities and policies, I spoke with a manager asking him to reevaluate the situation based on the information I provided and make his own call. He refused and when I asked why, he refused to address the situation further. Confused by what was happening, I asked to speak with the acting manager of the establishment for the evening. The manager appeared to be coming to speak with me but before he could arrive to my table to speak with me, a security guard by the first name of Matthew stepped forward and pulled his badge out and shoved it in my partners face belligerently saying get out. To see such a display of disrespect to a customer and even harassment in what I thought was a decent establishment was both shocking and reprehensible. To make the situation worse, the manager watched and did not address the situation at all. I had already paid for food that had not yet been given to me. My server asked if I would like to come inside to wait while the kitchen boxed up the food. As the waiter tried to escort me back inside, the door staff without speaking to us used their bodies to block my entry into the establishment. During all of this there were no staff members watching the outdoor seating area of the establishment giving non-patrons unchecked access to get inside.Desired Settlement: I would like a formal apology from the management of the restaurant, a refund for my food, and the security guard reprimanded for excessive and unnecessary aggressive behavior.
