Review: On May 2, 2012, my fiancee and I purchased a hot air balloon ride through Sportations on their website. The balloon ride was to be conducted by Dancing on Air in New Jersey. The company's contact was named [redacted]. She cancelled the first scheduled flight at the end of July due to weather. Then, she cancelled the second flight in August because she was not being paid by Sportations for her customers' flights. She unprofessionally ignored my numerous phone calls and emails and eventually said all refunds must come through Sportations. Her response came in November.
The management at Sportations proceeded to ignore my correspondence and in January of this year told me to contact Groupon because they were the ones who originally issued my fiancee and I a voucher for the Sportations website. However, Groupon was only able to issue me the refund for their vouchers. When I called Sportations again in January regarding Groupon's inability to refund the flight they advised me to file a claim through my bank. My bank could not do anything because the flight was purchased a year ago. When I tried Sportations again from February till now I never received another response. They recently shut down their email address and phone number, leaving me unable to speak with anyone at the company.
My fiancee and I were victims of Hurricane Sandy and are struggling to make ends meet. It is crucial that we receive our money back. We each paid $179.99 and have not had it returned to either of our accounts. I ask that you please contact Dancing on Air on our behalf. Since their cancellation of our flights has led to this predicament then perhaps you can attempt to procure the refund from them. Thank you so much for your time and assistance.
