Final Consumer Response / [redacted] (2000, 6, 2015/06/12) */ The refrigerator and shower problems have been resolved

The lease State that pest control is the responsibility of the lesseeWe have even offered to have the tenant buy mouse traps and save the receipt and she could deduct it from the rentThe Unit is so disgusting that most of the sub contractors that we use refuse to do any work in the
unitThe Tenant has been written up by StClair housing numerous times concerning the cleanliness of the unit. I would be happy to supply a list of contractors that have been in the unit and refuse to go back if the Revdex.com would like. The stove was ordered and paid for in Midwest appliance tried to set up an appointment numerous times with the tenant and received no cooperation getting into the unit. As for the rent, The rent on the unit is $550.00/ monthStClair Housing pays $and the tenants portion is $Rent is due on the first of the monthON February 5th, The tenant paid $leaving a balance due for February of $plus late feesIn November 2017, Dandell Did not receive a payment from the tenant at all. The tenant is welcome to come into the office and we will go over the pay record with herWe would also be glad to meet the Revdex.com at the unit if you would like to see the condition of the unit

This tenant signed a lease and moved in approximately March 1st Rent is due on the first of every monthStarting in April, she has not paid on time onceat times falling two months behindShe also has been living in the unit without any electricity for the last two month and is
running an extension cord from her neighbor's unit into hersThis is not only a violation of the City code, it is also a fire hazardShe has been asked numerous time to remove the extension cord and has ignored all requestThe City Inspector along with the Police department went out to investigateAt this time, they found evidence of drug use along with a letter from *** Illinois stating that she had tampered with the meter We have been more than patient with her on her rent(Worked with her for five months now) At this time, The tenant owes $rent plus an additional $in late fees for the previous five months The tenant has been served a five day notice and the eviction will be started if rent has not been paid within the five daysAt this time, The City has also condemned the unit because she has no powerAs per City code, All utilities will have to be on before she can occupy the unit ***

We were notified that the realtor was having an inspection. My agent got tied up and failed to call the tenant to inform her. The realtor and inspector were in their legal right to enter the property per the lease that was signed by the tenant. As a courtesy, we usually notify the tenants any time...

an owner of one of their representative want to enter the property. On this occasion we dropped the ball and fail to do so. It was a mistake and both Joy and myself apologized for that mistake. When the tenant came into our office, I did ask her to stop yelling and lower her voice. After failing to calm her down, I did let her know that she was on a month to month lease and was free to leave if she was not happy. I feel that this was a unfortunate mistake. Both Joy and myself have apologized for that mistake. I am not sure what more we can do or what the tenant would like us to do at this point.

The tenant has been living in the unit since 5/1/2015. At this time the unit was inspected by the City and did not have any bugs. St Clair. County Housing Authority has been in and inspected within the last year and has not found any evidence of bed bugs. We only heard about bed bugs within the last...

two weeks when the tenant came in and wanted to move. At that time, She admitted that she had brought used furniture into her unit. We feel that this is where the bed bugs came from. Her lease does state that extermination is the responsibility of the tenant. As for her claim that the other units are in infested, there are only four units in the building. One is used as storage and the other two have no bed bugs at all.We feel that the bed bugs are there because of her actions and the owner of the building is not responsible for pest control. If the tenant is not happy, Dandell will  agree to release her from the lease.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:I am moving in with my brother due to the fact of the poor condition of the facility, my friend warned me when I moved in there about the problems and I spoke with them and they told me I should not have any problems when I moved in. When I first moved in there was a water mark on the ceiling that all they did was paint over it, the maintenance man told me that he would have to come back and fix it where it is lowered from the water damage which that was never done. Upon moving in I couldn't use my sink for a week after moving in and my floor flooded between the bathroom and bedrooms and also led out into the living room. which the same friend also had the same problem which is why she moved out. after a few days they sent someone out and the guy that came out told me that this is the 3rd time he has been to this apartment to fix the same problem and that the apartment complex needed all new pipes and plumbing and he said that this wouldn't be the last time that this will happen until they get the pipes replaced. As of today I still have a brown ring on my carpet which I called Monday about and they said they were going to send someone out to steam clean it and they still haven't. Monday I called also because I have been having a spider problem because I keep finding big spiders in my bathroom. I took pictures up close to them before I had to them and sent it to my mom who had people look at them and they did say they were brown recluse spiders. When I called Monday they said they were going to send someone out to spray, I called again Wednesday because between those 2 days I had to kill about 5 spiders alone in my bathroom and now my children wont even go in there because there terrified of the spiders. When I called Wednesday they said that I had to go out and buy my own stuff and just take it off my rent. It is not the tenants job to take care of a spider infestation like that.  All I am asking for is my security deposit back and the rent I paid for August. I gave my 30 day notice because I have already paid Julys rent as well. If need be I can move out sooner. I just want my money back I do not want to deal with more problems for the next year and I should not have to. I understand its an old apartment but I cannot live somewhere my children and I do not feel safe or comfortable. I apologize for this but I just want my money back.
Sincerely,
