The vehicle was towed from the *** ** *** parking
lot that we patrol at *** *** *** *** for unauthorized parking on March
3, at 9:pm. The owner picked her
vehicle up at 10:pm. She was charged
$*** for the impound tow fee and $*** for the after-hours
release. This is why she was charged $*** to her
card. The driver and the manager both
told her that the total to release the vehicle that night (after-hours) would
be $***. If she had picked up her
vehicle during our regular business hours, the fee would have only been the
$***. Our hours are Monday-Friday
8:am to 7:pm, Saturday-Sunday 12pm-2pm.
We have our hours and release fees posted at our office. In regards to the missing money claim, the vehicle was
only unlocked in order to secure the steering wheel so it could be towed
safely. The driver did not go into any
other area of the vehicle. When she
picked up her vehicle she was only complaining about being towed because she
had never had an issue with parking at that location previously. She asked to speak with the owner of the
company and was told that he was not available at that late time of night. She left our lot with her vehicle and called
us later claiming that her seat was moved and she was missing money. She never stated the amount of money that was
missing, only that it was ‘some money’. The
driver told her that the only reason he had to unlock her vehicle was to secure
the steering wheel and that nothing else was touched She returned, back to our office the next day,
Saturday March 4, at noon. She
still never stated the amount of money that was missing. If she had told us the amount that was
missing, the manager would have called the police himself to report it, whether
she wanted to involve the police or not.
At that time, we instructed her to file a report with the police and she
refused to do so. She stated that she
would just go to the magistrate office to file one because she did not have
time to file one in our office. If she
has filed a report since this situation took place, we have not received
anything as of today. We will make our driver and our office personnel
available for any type of police inquiry that she chooses to pursue. Please let us know if there are any questions
or if you need anything else. Thanks,Mellany P*** Marshall Brothers Towing & Recovery*** *** Road ***, Virginia ***Phone: (***) ***-***Fax: (***) ***-***Email: ***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I called Marshall Brothers at 9:32 pm and my vehicle was picked up by them at 9:11 pm. I picked up my vehicle within 20 minutes of calling them, so it was NOT 10:52pm when I arrived at their lot. In regards to the fee, I initialed ONLY for $[redacted] and the total at the bottom was changed AFTER I initialed and the card was ran. As for the money missing, I called the driver while sitting on [redacted] Rd (as soon as I realized someone had went into my car)  and asked why my seat was moved and where was the $[redacted], as I just cashed my paycheck that day. I will dispute the $[redacted] with my bank.
Regards,
[redacted]
