I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.February 11, 2016 RE: Complaint #***I will state here that I did not think to document dates of phone calls and other activity, if any, as I truly expected the guaranteed satisfactionThere was never an issue with the rain gutters with the older roof which was approximately years oldIf there were too many leaves in the gutter the water would run over the front, not behindIn a small leak began inside the houseAfter the new roof was installed in the water would run off the roof and behind the rain gutters around the perimeter of the house and down the side of the house in places. There was never a leak in the bathroom but the vent does make a tapping noise at times which I had questioned, (I thought it might be a leak) and I just live with the sound which will occur at times without evidence of wind or rainIn the summer of Danny’s General Contracting installed a new roofAfter the new roof was installed rain water would run behind the rain gutters instead of into themAlso there was now a leak on the porch and it was originally thought that it originated at the skylightsEven if the skylights were resealed it did not correct that leakEach time I called I was told it would need to be raining when the contractor came to look at itI don’t believe he ever came when it was rainingJust the snow melting off the roof caused the porch to leakIt did not need to be rainingThe porch never had a leak prior to the new roof.I am not aware of the Contractor ever coming to look while it was raining and leaking and no resolution was offered. I had to get someone here to correct the problem before it caused any real damageIt was found during the recent repair that there was a hole under the shingles in the valley where the porch roof meets the house roofThis is what was causing the leakSo, for now, there is no leak on the porch, but I have no confidence in the rest of the roof. Some issues found were: 1"1/nails used, 1"1/are required for architectural shinglesNails were found to be to close to the seam of the shingle above itValley materials sliced with knife during installation causing a leakShingle cuts in valley done improperly cutting into layer below in spotsDrip edge installed over ice and water barrier allowing water to run behind drip edgeDrip edge was installed so tight to fascia flashing was needed to direct water into gutterThere are photos, if needed, of the hole, rusty nails and the wet porch. It was suggested that I consider having the roof redone to ensure completeness and durabilityFor my own peace of mind, going forward, I tend to agree. Sincerely, *** ***
