She didn't have the money for a repair. I offered to finance her in-house. She declined. I paid to have it towed here. The towing is free with repair, as it says on my website. I will split the difference on the tow bill, and not a penny more. I offer 80.00. Take it or leave it. Respectfully yoursDanny

My name is [redacted] and I'm writing to you today in response to ID#[redacted]. I listed a car on [redacted] and was contacted by [redacted]. He expressed interest in it and set a time to come look at the vehicle with his son. We reached a sale price, he put down a deposit, and...

said he would be back the following day as they we using a bank to finance the purchase. I said no problem, I will hold the vehicle for you for an extra day (48 hours) if need be, because sometimes loans take a little longer to fund. We shook hands and the deal was done. I received a call the next day, requesting me to take the title to Wells Fargo. I delivered the title and sat there for about thirty minutes. They said it may be the following Monday until it funds because it was over the weekend. I said no problem. During this period I had 2 people stop bye, and three people call on the vehicle. I told them, I have a deposit on the vehicle and if the customer doesn't pick up by the following Monday it would be back on the market. The following mo rning, I received a call from [redacted] and his wife saying the loan didn't go thru because of the age of the vehicle. At that point they asked for their deposit back and I refused to give it back to them. The word "deposit" infers that if you have intent on purchasing something, if for whatever reason you don't complete the transaction you forfeit the deposit. This was a verbal agreement made between a potential buyer and a seller.

He knew I had terrible credit.  He guaranteed me financing and as I said before I would have never had him tow it if he would have been honest.  Still has not shown me the bill for the tow and he offered to finance me for 1500 down.  That is more than half the repair would have coated.  He knew I was low on cash and still told me he can do it.  Didn't matter what my credit situation was like.  I still feel he needs to pay me back what I paid for the tow because if he would have been honest and upfront about me possibly not getting financing I wouldn't have wasted my time.  He knew I had terrible credit and I was short on cash.  Then he says I can't get financing but he will offer me it 1500 down.  Which he knew I didn't have.  That is the primary reason we had a conversation of financing because I didn't have slot of money.  He was fully aware.  I want my money back and he has still to this day hasn't provided a bill or the information for the 3rd party tow company.  This guy is a joke.  Yelp reviews all show the same thing.  He gives them a price or offers them a good deal and once he has it for a couple days he changes everything.  He told me it was gonna be 1500 and then it shot up to 2300 almost 1000 more than I was quoted.  When I wanted financing on 1500 dollar job.  Then he bait and switched yelling me it's 2300 bow and I have to put 1500 down because he couldnt get me financed.  I feel he still needs to pay me back due to giving me false information and switching it once the tow was done.

To whom it may concern,My Name is [redacted] and I'm writing to you today in response to complaint id # [redacted]. It has been out policy for 5 years now to offer our customers a free external diagnostic check at no charge. We also provide free towing (within 10 miles) with any major...

repair work done at our shop. We towed the vehicle in, we provided a free external check, and determined the transmission needed to be rebuilt. At that point we obtained authorization to remove the transmission from the vehicle (customer provided verbal auth with last 4 digits of social security). When we had it torn down and gave her the point of failure as well the price to fix the transmission, she declined repair of transmission. She elected to pay us for the labor that we had into the job already and the tow because the tow is free with the repair only. I will credit the money she spent with us towards her transmission repair if she elects to bring it back and give her an extra year warranty.[redacted]President of Danny's Transmissions And Total Car Care

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Thank you for looking into this for me. However that story that he gave you is a complete lie. My vehicle was towed to his location for a estimate. He proceeded to tell me he had financial plans that allowed for me to do payments. I gave him my social and information to see if I was eligible for finance. I didn't hear back from him until my car was in pieces and he claimed I owed him close to $2000 dollars. He refused to return my car. My boyfriend had to go down there with me to pick it up. Even when we called a tow truck company to pick up my car since the transmission was in the trunk the driver said he had heard horror stories about that place. I took the car to another mechanic who told me the problem was a simple fix that had no need for the transmission to be taken apart.

Regards,

This customer's vehicle was towed in with a transmission problem. We don't remove transmissions from the vehicle unless a customer authorizes us to do so. lf they authorize in person, they sign for it. If they authorize over the phone, which was the case with this customer, we obtain the last four digits of their social security number for their authorization. After the transmission is opened up, we let them know what the point of failure is and the amount to repair. We provided her that info and she declined repair. She advised us to stop and she wanted to take it somewhere else at no charge and we let her. If she can show that she got her transmission fixed for less than my estimate of 2000.00 and they provided the same warranty as I do for 24 month and 24,000 miles including all parts and labor covered, I will pay her the difference myself. The simple fact is, she couldn't pay for it. I had and have ways to finance transmissions. She wasn't interested in any of those options.

My name is [redacted] and I'm responding to id#[redacted]. We built [redacted] transmission over a year ago and is still under warranty with us. We provided a 24 moth-24,000 mile warranty which we will honor. In addition, we will put her in a rental car at our expense. Any questions,...

Review: My son went to buy a car that they had for sale on [redacted], they were asking $5000 and my son gave them a $500 deposit to hold the car so he could go the the bank with his grandmother to get a loan. The loan did not go through due to the age of the car. We contacted the business and apologized for the inconvenience and ask to get our deposit back. We were told no and they would not refund our deposit, nothing was signed or verbally agreed upon that the deposit was not refundable. We have checked with other reputable car dealers and they stated that this is not the normal practice.Desired Settlement: We would like a refund of $500

Review: I contacted this place called Danny's transmissions because they offer free estimates so he towed my car to his shop to do an estimate only, called me the next day told me the problem so I gave him my personal Info only to submit a application for me to be financed. I call him back two days later cause I haven't heard back from him and I also got a second opinion. When I finally contacted him and told him I was coming to pick up my car and he told me he had already took my transmission piecies, I told him I want my car back to the way it was when you picked it up. On Monday may 12, 2014 I went to get my car and he showed me my transmission in pieces still I told him I want my transmission back in my car the way it was, he refused to and told his mechanics to put it all in my Trunk. So now not only do I have a non working car it's going to cost twice as much to get it fixed, and had to waste money on a rental because that is my only car.Desired Settlement: I would like to get reimbursed for the cost to put my transmission back together and for the rental I had to get due to his disassembling my only vehicle without my permission.
