bought tires/put on, they broke the tire sensor but denied it. Brought to [redacted] all improperly balanced and not programmed properly. [redacted] repairedWent for car inspection. Tires bald so car failed. They offered to order/install new ones. They did. Air pressure kept dropping. Went in to reset. Didn't work. Went to [redacted] where they told us the tire senor was broken off and not in tire which meant more than likely they new it broke off and didn't tell us. [redacted] fixed sensors and then realized the tires had factory weights still on some and others had new weights added. Totally improperly balanced and never reprogrammed. When we confronted D'Aous they suggested [redacted] broke the sensor on purpose to make money. I provided D'Aous with notes from [redacted] and asked for a $300 refund even though it cost $370 to avoid small claims court which is where I am headed. They insisted they have a board in their waiting room that states "not responsible for tire sensors" We did not go in the waiting room to order tires. They were offered to us outside while getting an inspection. It was pointed out to my husband when he returned to tell them something was wrong as if that doesn't make them liable for breaking the sensor and costing us $370!Desired SettlementI am seeking $370 but will settle for $300. Otherwise I am heading to Small Claims court where I will have to pay a $40 filing fee which I will add to the $370.Business Response Daou's disputes these allegations in full. If one of my service technicians broke a tire sensor and disposed of it as alleged, then the tire pressure sensor light would have been on at the time the car owner picked up the car. However, previous correspondence to my company indicates that the tire pressure sensor light went on while the car owner was driving to pick up the car owner's children, sometime after the car owner picked up the car from my garage. That is an unlikely result if the tire pressure sensor were severely damaged as car owner alleges. As far as the tire balancing issue is concerned, car owner did not report any vibration issues at all to my company after the tires were installed. Instead, the car owner drove on the tires for more than a month, which included trips to and from Boston five days per week. The mileage information from the documents the car owner provided indicates that the car owner drove 2,955 miles between the time we installed the new tires on 2/6/15 and the time the car owner had them rebalanced seven (7) weeks later at another service station on 3/31/15. The minute you pull away from a service station with newly balanced tires, they begin getting out of balance again. Every bump and corner affects balance; so does tire wear. Over time, your tires get out of balance again. That's why it's important to have tires balanced regularly. During typical use, it's a good idea to have your tires rotated and balanced every 4,000 to 6,000 miles. Given these facts, I am uncomfortable accepting the car owner's conclusion that we improperly balanced the new tires.I am sorry that the car owner is unhappy with our service, but without more facts, my company is not required to reimburse the car owner for the money spent to service the vehicle at another garage seven (7) weeks and 3,000 miles after my company installed new tires.
