Review: I made an appointment for 8:30am, I got there at 8am when the doors open, and no one was there until after 8:45am. Once I got inside, I handed over my innocent dog, and explained exactly what I wanted. I left, and at 10:22am they called me to go pick him up. when I picked him up, the groomer simply charged my credit card ($60.00), handed me the leash (as if I would take off with my dog before paying), told me what a great dog he is, and she went directly into the back again. At no point during my pick up did she mention anything out of the ordinary about the visit. After looking at the dog, my dad noticed that he had some pretty blotchy spots. (Hair shaved off his stomach, and huge chunks of hair that were not shaved. The backs of his legs still had long pieces of uneven hair) after further examination, we also noticed he was bleeding pretty badly from his stomach. We flipped him over, and noticed a cut right near his private area surrounded by red irritated skin. I called the groomer back and explained I would like to have the cut fixed, and that I would like it if they would look at this wound. They seemed to be very concerned and wanted to help. I was wrong. Out comes the [redacted], and his wife. As soon as the wife took a look at his cut, she goes "Oh, Thats an old cut! that's been there. It has a scab. Take him to the vet if you think it is fresh" all while using her finger nail to rub my dogs fresh cut. To me, this was unnecessary, and rude. So I said.. "It isn't old, there is fresh blood all over his stomach" in which both husband, and wife brushed off my concern and walked away. I explained to them that the proper way to run a business would be to have their groomers examine each dog thoroughly in front of their [redacted] before taking them back for their appointment. I also told them I was not angry, but that they should do this to cover their own business in the future. (When you drop a car off in a parking garage a paper is marked with any preexisting scratches, so why wouldn't you do this for a living dog as well?) Since this was not done, at the completion of my appointment, the groomer should have brought my dog back out to me and either said one of two things 1. "I'm not sure if you noticed this, but your dog had a cut on him upon arrival" OR 2. "I am so sorry, but I accidentally nipped your dog with the clippers, I cleaned off his cut and he should be ok. please follow up with your vet" which I would have been OK with. Things happen! people get hurt every single day. It is neither here nor there. After telling the [redacted] how I felt he said "how much time do you have? let me get my whole staff to come stand around so you can tell everyone how things should be run around here" How rude, and unprofessional. I told him I wanted my money back because $60.00 was an absurd amount for a terrible job, and putting my dog in danger. Of course he said he wouldn't give me my money back while essentially laughing in my face... then I told him, "its okay I will go to [redacted] where its only $12.99 and they do a better job!" and he said "$12.99 THAT'S HORSE [redacted] I was in shock that he would use such foul language with a paying customer. This business is ran with absolutely no professionalism or concern at all. I am hurt, my dog is hurt, and justice shall be served!Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the $60.00 charged to me account.

To whom it may concern:

Our volunteers are there at 8am cleaning up after the rescues we take care. The groomers do not start until 830 am, myself the [redacted] was told by the groomer when she showed up at 825 she was met outside by a very agitated [redacted] because she was not let in the doors as I instruct due to not having a properly trained person on the premises. Myself showed up at 9 due to traffic coming across the tappen zee bridge when I did arrive I walked into the dog in the complaint happy as can be on the table giving my groomer kisses. My groomer took time away from other dogs to be groomed to make sure the dog was out in a timely manor due to the [redacted] being annoyed. I have been in business for 25 years in Nyack and we all go above and beyond to make customers happy. My groomers are trained professionals who very rarely get complaints. We brought out the dog when the [redacted] got there and she was very happy with the groom and that her dog seemed to very happy also. She payed the 50 dollars and gave the groomer a 10 dollar tip. About 5 hours later I receive a call from the [redacted] saying we cut the dog I automatically asked if it was severe to send her to the vet when she said no I asked her to come in. She came in about an hour later with the dog tail wagging and all; and showed me a scratch on the dogs stomach that had scabbing on it. I explained and showed her the scab but she didn't want to believe it was an old wound. I was not going to argue with her so I asked her to go to a vet for his view on the cut and she declined and started getting irate. At the point the groomer stepped in and tried to calm her down she even apologized if she did something, even though she knew she was not the cause of it. She then started complaining about the haircut so my groomer put the dog back on the table and fixed the things she complained about but in my eyes I saw nothing wrong with the dog. The groomer said she just wanted some things shorter, not that there was anythi ng wrong...which is fine it's preference and we have no problem doing a dog how the [redacted] prefers. After we did all this she demanded her money back which to me seemed absurd. We bathed your dog, did it's nails which at Petsmart is 12 dollars so I do not know where she went and got a 12 dollar haircut. We also shaved the dog and made modifications that she wanted to make her happy. We try to make every customer happy but in this world there are just some people no matter what you do they want to argue. She told us we should have checked the dog over and seen a scratch. Why would a groomer look over a dog for a scratch, we checked the dog over for any knots prior to check on due to that having something to actually do with a haircut. We probably wouldn't have even been able to see the scratch due to the dog having long fur upon arrival. Normally if we notice something we tell the [redacted] but the scratch was so small and in a hard to see place that it went un noti ced. My husband and her were arguing which I do believe to be unprofessional but she was being very nasty to my staff member which is not ok. I stepped in and told him to not do this with a customer and she started to yell at me which at the time I just walked away from her realizing no matter what I said it would not change the way she felt. I wish I could have done something to make her feel satisfied but it appears to me from the second she pulled into the parking lot she was not happy. The reason I feel like she should not be reimbursed is that we did everything in our power to make her happy and did all the services she requested.

Sincerely,

You have directed this complaint to the wrong business. There are several Dapper Dog's in the USA. You've left a complaint on the Dapper Dog of Brookfield, Wisconsin . You talk about the whole staff... the Dapper Dog of Brookfield WI does not have staff. I'm a one person dog grooming operation. Please delete this review as you have made the complaint to the wrong Dapper Dog. Thank you.
