Darcars Nissan of Rockville Reviews (12)

Horrible Customer Service & scamming charges
I dropped the car off as scheduled on 10-10-22. The initial adviser I spoke with in scheduling the appointment at the Darcars Nissan dealership on Indianola drive in Rockville confirmed the recall repair would be done in a day. However, after dropping the vehicle off, I was informed the repairs would be done in more than a day. Even though they intend to provide the loaner vehicle for a day. Since the repairs will be more than a day, I, as the victim/customer, will be responsible for paying for any extra day of rental for the vehicle while the vehicle is being on recall repaired. I then rejected the assumptive proposal of being responsible for paying for rentals if the repairs take more than a day, which was different from what I was initially told.
I drove my vehicle to Nissan to have the repairs done, and the initial discussion upon arrival was a request for me to pay for the diagnosis; I inquired why will I be paying for the diagnosis when my recall was determined to be an electronic issue. However, I told them okay, I will pay for the diagnosis if your diagnosis results indicate the keys are not reading the car system or, as you claim, are not related to the recall. Unfortunately, Darcars could not provide an accurate diagnosis report; instead, they wrote a summary of what they claimed to have done with the vehicle repair process. They also claimed the car could not start, and the repair was done in auto mode.
After approximately a week that I had driven my vehicle to Nissan for a recall, I got a call from Nissan, saying the car could not start, and we needed you to authorize us to change the battery. You must also pay for the diagnosis, parts, labor, and key programming.
These are the charges;
Labor----------------------------------- 149.99
Shop supplies --------------------------- 26.25
DRC document retention charge--------- 1.99
EPA Compliance charge -------------------- 32.24
Battery Replacement------------------------237.61
Reprogramming of Keys-------------------- 457.35
Diagnosis-----------------------------------185.89
Now I have a bill of $1.090.33 for a recall authorized and requested by Nissan. The loaner vehicle they had promised was never provided. I had to secure a rental. This is strangely disingenuous for me to be responsible for rental while my car is in service for a recall. I was advised by the NHTSA, NTSB, and FTC to call the Nissan Consumer office. Regrettably, non of them could resolve the said issue; instead, all I got was the worst customer service, and my car is being held hostage at Nissan for makeup bills. I've tried every effort to resolve this issue; for example, they claimed they needed a battery, and I bought a brand new battery and took it to the dealer; the next call I got was well will be charging you another $50 to replace the battery.
This Nissan's consumer customer services are worse when dealing with diverse customers and the Nissan dealership is even worser. I wonder how many people they have scammed by dogging them very disrespectfully.

Review: I was purchasing a 2011 [redacted] from Darcars Nissan yesterday, August 20, 2014. My husband went to the dealership in advance to test drive car and negotiate the price. After he and the sales rep came to an agreement I went to the dealership to give the dealership a check for the purchase of the car. I was presented with two documents to sign, one was a privacy document and the other was a credit application. I was not applying for credit so I did not want to sign a credit application. The sales manager told me I had to sign the credit application so Darcars could run a check on me to make sure I was not a terrorist. I told him I would sign a document for those purposes but I would not a credit application because by signing the credit application I would be giving Darcars authorization to pull my credit, along with every thing else my signature on that document would authorize. The sales manager got mad and said even if I came in there with a "bucket of cash" he would not be able to sell me a car if I did not sign the credit application. and if I did not sign it then he "would not be able to sell me a car." I told him to provide me documentation of that policy in writing that says I have to sign a credit application in order to purchase a car. He said it is a federal government policy and he told me I could "google it". He said the policy has been in place since 9/11. I told him if it is a policy that requires them to make their customers do something then they should have that in writing to provide to customers just like the privacy policy document. He had the sales rep google the policy and the sales manager then pushed the monitor around to me to read the policy. I asked them to print it out for me to read which they did. I read it and upon completion I informed him there is nothing in that federal policy that says I cannot purchase a car unless I sign a credit application. He said if I do not sign the credit application he cannot sell me a car so I left without a car. My financing is already in place through my bank. I came to the dealership with a check to sign over to them for the purchase of any car of my choice. I purchased a vehicle 2 years ago with a check from my bank and I did not have to sign a credit application or speak to the finance department at all about anything. My brother purchased a vehicle through the same bank, with the same type of check just three weeks ago and he went to the dealership, signed the check over and drove off in his new car. Darcars Nissan told me I had to talk to the finanace manager and kept telling me they could be the rate my bank offered. My husband and I told them over and over again that we are not interested in going through their finance department. We obtain our financing in advance through our own bank in order to avoid the haggle from dealership financing departments. Darcars Nissan lied to me and tried to force me to sign a credit application giving them authorization to pull my credit so they could attempt to sway me into accepting financing through them and as a result of my refusal to sign the credit application they would not sell me a car which is fine because I will never buy a car from a Darcars dealership.Desired Settlement: I would like to make Darcars coporate office aware of these unethical practices and would like an explanation as to why Darcars refuses to sell people cars if they do not sign a credit application.

Dear

Ms. Freeman,

I bought a Nissan Titan from darcars two years ago. I paid for a 7 year warranty for the truck. Because I use the truck for work and tu pull trailers and other heavy things, the differential broke. They refuse to cover the repair under warranted because they are alleging that the truck was used to do a burn out. And they refuse to repair the truck. He truck was never used to do any burn out. Worst part Is that every employee with the exception of Sean were very rude. I will never buy a Nissan especially from that dealer.

Review: Went to Darcars Nissan of Rockville on 07--17-14.Proir to going to the dealership, I called with all the details of my situation and I was told to come in. I did test drive vehicle and I was very excited. Went to talk to the Financial Service Manager. Did the application. It was submitted to banks. Was told that it could take awhile was told to go home and he would call me. On the way got a call to come back and get the car. Signed all the neccesary documents and thought the car was mines. On 07-31-14 was told to bring the car back. This was such a dissappointment. I had turned in my tags from my trade and also cancelled my Gap and Extented warranties. That was the worst experience in my fifty-six years of life. I do believe that this was a "SPOT SALE"Desired Settlement: To have the sell honored as I thought it was as it was signed on 07-17-14.
