Darien Automotive Group Reviews (2)

Review: Nissan of Darien send my father a prize mailing. It states if his number on the electronic keypass matches the number on the mailing, he is eligible for one of four prizes. The prizes are in order from least to most expensive 1.) $150 in cash 2.)$300 gift card 3.) An *pad and an *phone 4.)A nissan versa. When we arrived to show them that the keypass matched their mailing, they gave us a 500 voucher for a website [redacted]. The website is full of overpriced items such as a 256mb flashcard valued at 19.95 but shipping cost is 5 dollars. This is a clear case of bait and switch. They wanted us to end up in their showroom but since we arrived at the end of the night, they had no time to entice us and gave us something that was of no value because their are clearly better alternatives at better prices with cheaper shipping fees. That is inherently fraudulent and unethical business practice.Desired Settlement: I want an apology and the *pad and *phone prize. I don't think my father realistically expected to win the car but their switch of a 500 dollar voucher says that they valued it at greater than the 300 dollar prize. I also want it known that this type of bait and switch tactic is unacceptable and they should be fined.

Dear [redacted],

OC T - 7 U 888

CONNECTICUT

I would like to thank the Revdex.com for their objectivity on this matter and asking for a reply to the alleged allegation against our dealership. In September 2013 we put out a mail piece to a list of people in our community offering them a chance to win one of 4 prizes at our expense. This mailer was sent to 15,000 people with zero cost or obligation to them. Each mailer was randomly assigned, by an independent insurance company, a winning number to one of the following four prizes.

• A new Nissan Versa SV

• An *PAD/*PHONE Combo

• $150 in cash

• $300 gift card

The only requirement to claim your prize was to come in to our showroom. Those that chose to respond would match their winning number (located on the mail piece) to a prize board to determine exactly which prize they had won. This piece was fully insured and if all 15,000 recipients came in to claim their prize every prize would have been awarded.

To address M r. [redacted]'s points:

1. The digital box and the matching number :

Above the digital box it clearly states in big bold letters the following:

"Please reveal your electronic combination in the digital Combination Box below. If your combination matches the scratch-off number below you are guaranteed one of four prizes with the possible New 2014 Nissan Versa SV!"

2. The award of the $300 gift card:

Due to the high response rate, we actually ran out of the $300 gift cards and he was given a $500 gift card instead. To use these card s, you go to [redacted] and select anything you want within your card limit. There is a shipping charge and a one-time processing fee. The disclaimer that was on the bottom of the mailer reads as follows:

$300 Gift Card is valid only for the amount shown. All shipping & handling charges plus a once per order $5 processing fee is the responsibility of the holder. These fees must be paid by credit card. Please go to [redacted] for complete terms and conditions."

3. The time of day dictated his prize:

The prize had been predetermined by an independent insurance company. In no way did we alter or change the prize he was going to win because of the time he came into the showroom.

In the excitement of learning that he had won one of four prizes it is unfortunate he choose not to read the full explanation and the rules presented on the mailer before visiting our showroom . As far as [redacted]'s assertion of fraudulent activity this is clearly misplaced as his father received the prize that matched hi s winning number on the mail piece. Therefore his desired settlement request for and * PAD / * PHO NE is completely without merit. However we would like to apologize to Mr. [redacted] for the inconvenience of coming to our showroom to receive a free gift that turned out to be unsatisfactory to him.

We appreciate the opportunity to review and comment on this customers experience information as presented to your office. If there is anything else we can provide for you, such as the insurance purchased, the gift card, or copies of the mailer please do not hesitate to ask.

Review: I, [redacted],am a long term customer of Darien [redacted]. I've leased different models of [redacted] from Darien [redacted] since2009. On September22 2014in response to promotional add Early lease termination program I've leased my new [redacted]2014. I was promised by the dealer That Darien [redacted] will pay off what was left on my previous lease. However, a few weeks later I've received End of Lease Liability Statement from [redacted] Motor Acceptance Corporation in the amount of$307,67. Part of the bill $90.00 is

registration fee which I agree to pay. Rest of the bill is unpaid lease obligations that Darien [redacted] didn't pay. After long phone and personal conversations with both parties it was determined that mistake was made and Darien [redacted] paid for 2 months when in fact I had 3 months left on my previous lease. I understand that it was

probably honest mistake made by the dealership but I don't have to pay for it. Both parties: dealership and bank kept blaming each other and nobody would take responsibility and correct the mistake .I end up with the bill . In a process both parties admitted that I have every right to be angry but I still have to pay because they don't want to pay.Promise of the best deal for the best customers was broken .Early lease Termination Program was not what it has to be. I was trying to complain and contact general manager via e-mail but got no response. You are my last hope to resolve the situation Thanks, [redacted]Desired Settlement: I want [redacted] of Darien to pay $217.63 To [redacted] Motor AcceptanceCorporation. That's the amount left on my previous lease. And that was part of the deal to pay off my balance .

From: [redacted] Sent: Tuesday, January 06, 2015 3:37 PM To: [redacted] Subject: ID [redacted] Dear Ms. [redacted], I wanted to let you know that our Sales Manager is working on Ms. [redacted]’s complaint to your office about her lease payment. I elected to contact you as I think you should be aware that our first knowledge of this complaint to the Revdex.com was received on December 29, 2014, copy attached. As you may know many businesses including [redacted] Motor Acceptance Corp. were closed for the holidays getting back to business yesterday January 5th. Today we received a notice from your office that this complaint was being closed in your files as a no response. We currently have contacted [redacted] who provided the information on the number of payments that remained on her lease. As of yet they are still following up on this to determine where the problem may lie. We will provide our comments as soon as we have the required information. Checking the Revdex.com website it indicates that fourteen days is allowed for us to respond so I believe this no response notification may have been sent by mistake. I tried calling your offices today around one PM first I tried the directory for [redacted] extension number, she was not listed. I called back and waited for the phone system auto attendant to complete when the call was transferred, no one answered this after at least 10 rings. I have updated our company information on your website several times to no avail.. [redacted] has not worked for our company in years. Our company the Darien Automotive Group ([redacted] and [redacted]) have been sold therefore our listing may need to be removed? I hope you find this information useful. Very truly yours, [redacted]
